Yealink USB Headsets: UH34, UH42, UH44, UH46, UH48 Compared
A Yealink USB headset is the cheapest way to put a Microsoft Teams certified headset on every desk in a Singapore office: the Yealink UH42 starts at S$45.00, the Yealink UH34 and UH34 SE run from S$55.00 to S$75.00, the Yealink UH44 from S$60.00, the Yealink UH35 at S$70.00, the Yealink UH46 from S$80.00, and the Yealink UH48 with hybrid Active Noise Cancellation tops the range at S$130.95. For desk phones that take a quick-disconnect (QD) cord rather than USB, the Yealink YHS34 and YHS36 run from S$50.00 to S$80.00. Every UH model is a wired headset with an in-line call controller, a choice of Teams (MS) or UC firmware, and either USB-A or a USB-C cord with a USB-A adapter. This guide explains which to buy, the MS versus UC and USB-A versus USB-C choices, and where a wired headset beats the Yealink Bluetooth and Yealink DECT ranges.

Which Yealink USB headset for a Singapore office desk?
Three decisions cover most Singapore deployments. For a general office on Microsoft 365 where the headset is used for Teams calls a few times a day, the UH42 Dual Teams at S$55.00 or the UH34 Dual MS at S$75.00 is enough; the UH42 has the larger 35 mm speaker and a USB-C cord, the UH34 is the lighter headset and the one Microsoft has listed as Certified for Microsoft Teams since 2020. For a contact centre or a helpdesk where the headset is worn all day, step up to the UH44 or UH46: both add a busylight on the earcup, a mute that triggers when you lift the microphone boom, and two or three microphones for cleaner outgoing audio. For a manager or an open-plan knowledge worker who wants to shut the floor out, the UH48 Dual Teams at S$130.95 is the only wired Yealink headset with hybrid ANC, and it comes with dual busylights and a zipper bag. What we see in Singapore deployments is that most organisations put one mid-range dual model such as the UH44 or UH46 on every seat and keep a small pool of UH48s for people who ask for noise cancellation, which keeps spares and ear cushions to two SKUs.
MS (Teams) vs UC: which firmware should I order?
Every UH headset is sold as either an MS/Teams SKU or a UC SKU, at the same price. The Teams SKU is the one Microsoft lists as Certified for Microsoft Teams; its in-line controller has a dedicated Teams button that raises the Teams client and joins a scheduled meeting with one press, and the LEDs reflect Teams presence. The UC SKU uses the same hardware with generic HID call control that works with Teams, Zoom, Webex, Google Meet, 3CX and SIP softphones, but without the Teams button. Order Teams if the organisation runs Microsoft 365 and Teams Phone; order UC if calls run through Zoom Phone, a SIP PBX or a mixed estate. Both versions are managed from Yealink USB Connect on the PC or Yealink Management Cloud Service, so firmware and settings can be pushed to a fleet. Keep one variant per department; mixing them creates support calls when a user with the UC headset asks why the Teams button is missing.
USB-A vs USB-C: which Yealink headset connector do I need?
The UH34 and UH34 SE are the only models where you choose the connector at order time: the standard UH34 is USB-A, while the UH34 SE comes in USB-A and USB-C versions, each in MS and UC. The UH35, UH42, UH44, UH46 and UH48 all ship as "USB-C/A", a USB-C cord with a USB-A adapter in the box, so one SKU covers a USB-C laptop, a desktop with USB-A ports and a Yealink IP phone with a USB port. For a mixed fleet of older desktops and new USB-C notebooks, the USB-C/A models avoid holding two stock keeping units. The cable layout differs by model too: the UH42, UH44 and UH46 use a 0.65 m headset lead to the controller and a 1.5 m USB lead, while the UH35 and UH48 use a single 1.7 m cord, which matters if the PC sits on the floor.
Yealink YHS34 and YHS36 QD headsets for desk phones
Not every desk has a PC softphone. For a Yealink T-series or MP-series IP phone, the YHS34 and YHS36 are wired headsets with a quick-disconnect (QD) cord ending in an RJ9 plug for the phone's headset port, with a noise-cancelling microphone, passive noise isolation and wideband HD audio. The Yealink YHS34 Mono QD to RJ wired headset is S$55.00 and the YHS34 Dual is S$55.00; the lighter YHS34 Lite Mono is S$50.00 and the YHS34 Lite Dual is S$60.00. The YHS36 adds protein-leather ear cushions for longer shifts: YHS36 Mono at S$60.00 and YHS36 Dual at S$80.00. SourceIT also lists "for 3rd party" versions of each, which come with a QD cable for non-Yealink desk phones: YHS34 Lite Mono for 3rd party (S$50.00), YHS34 Mono for 3rd party (S$55.00), YHS34 Lite Dual for 3rd party (S$60.00), YHS34 Dual for 3rd party (S$75.00), YHS36 Mono for 3rd party (S$60.00) and YHS36 Dual for 3rd party (S$70.00). Tell us the phone brand and model when you order so we can confirm the right QD cable. If the phone estate is Yealink Teams phones, our Yealink MP54, MP56 and MP58 comparison covers the phones themselves.
When a wired headset beats Bluetooth or DECT
A wired USB headset has no battery to charge, no dongle to lose, no pairing to troubleshoot and no radio to share with a floor full of Wi-Fi, which is why it is still the default for shared desks, training rooms, libraries and any seat where the headset is handed between shifts. It is also a third of the price: a UH44 Dual at S$70.00 against S$186.30 for a Yealink BH74 MS or S$270.00 for a Yealink WH64 Dual. Choose wireless when the user needs to stand up during calls, walk to a printer or whiteboard, or answer a desk phone and a PC from the same headset; our DECT vs Bluetooth headset guide explains which wireless technology fits which floor. For meeting rooms rather than desks, see the Yealink CP925, CP935W and CP965 conference phone comparison.
