Jabra Evolve3 vs Evolve2: What's Actually Changed, and Should You Upgrade?

The Jabra Evolve3 range changes three things that matter: the 75 and 85 drop the boom arm for a six-microphone array running deep-neural-network ClearVoice, adaptive ANC now keeps working during calls, and the batteries are user-replaceable, with wireless charging on the 75, 85 and 65 Flex. It does not give you more talk time; on the 75, 85 and 65 Flex, Jabra rates it slightly lower than the Evolve2 equivalent. Should you upgrade? For new purchases, mostly yes, because at SourceIT most Evolve3 models currently cost the same as or less than the Evolve2 they replace (the 65 Flex is the exception). For working Evolve2 headsets already on desks, no: replace them when they wear out.

When did the Evolve3 launch, and does it replace the Evolve2?

Jabra announced the Evolve3 85 and 75 on 21 January 2026 and the Evolve3 65 Flex, 65 and 45 on 1 July 2026, and says the Evolve3 range will supersede the Evolve2 range launched in 2020. SourceIT stocks both generations, and Evolve2 models remain available while supplies last.

Specs from Jabra's product pages and press releases; prices are SourceIT's headset-only MS listings on 24 Oct 2026 (the Evolve2 65 Flex UC USB-A is S$365.00). Talk and music times are Jabra ratings.

What changed in microphone technology?

The headline change is the microphone. On the Evolve3 85 and 75, Jabra removed the boom and moved six microphones into the earcups, with ClearVoice now using deep-neural-network processing to separate your voice from the room. Jabra claims 96 per cent word accuracy across tested environments and 99 per cent in open offices, and calls the boomless design a significant step up from the Evolve2 85 and 75. The Evolve3 65 and 45 keep a boom; on the 65 it rotates 270 degrees, flips up to mute and works on either ear, and Jabra lists Premium Microphone for Open Office certification. If your users hated the Evolve2 boom on camera, Evolve3 75 and 85 fix that. If they work somewhere genuinely loud, the boom on the Evolve3 65 is the safer choice.

What changed in design and comfort?

Each Evolve3 in the table except the 65 Flex is lighter than the Evolve2 it replaces. Jabra says the Evolve3 85 is 35 per cent slimmer and 23 per cent lighter than the Evolve2 85, and the drop from 176.4 g to 131 g on the 65 stereo is noticeable at the end of the day. The 75 and 85 fold, and the 65 Flex still folds flat for travel.

What changed in battery and charging?

  • Talk time is similar or slightly lower. Evolve3 85: up to 25 h against 26 h. Evolve3 75: up to 22 h against 25 h. Evolve3 65: up to 31 h against 35 h. Evolve3 65 Flex: up to 16.5 h against 20 h.
  • Music time is far higher. Roughly three times longer on the 75 and 85.
  • Fast charging. Ten minutes gives the Evolve3 75 and 85 up to 10 hours of music.
  • Wireless charging. Qi charging on the Evolve3 85, 75 and 65 Flex.
  • Replaceable battery. Evolve3 batteries and ear cushions can be replaced, so a headset can outlive its first battery. This is the biggest lifecycle change for IT buyers.
The Evolve3 does not last longer per charge. It lasts longer per purchase, because the battery can be swapped.

What changed in connectivity and management?

Evolve3 models use Bluetooth 5.3 and the Jabra Link 390 adapter (USB-A or USB-C) with multipoint, and Jabra lists LE Audio on the product pages. The Evolve2 85 and 65 use Bluetooth 5.0 and the 75 and 65 Flex 5.2. Jabra also introduced Jabra Plus management alongside the Evolve3, while Jabra Direct and Jabra Xpress continue to handle settings and firmware. On sustainability, Jabra cites recycled or bio-circular materials, FSC-certified packaging and TCO Certified Generation 10 for the range.

Should you upgrade from Evolve2 to Evolve3?

  • Buying new headsets now: pick Evolve3 in most cases. At SourceIT's current prices the Evolve3 85 is S$185.00 cheaper than the Evolve2 85, the Evolve3 75 S$120.00 cheaper than the Evolve2 75, and the Evolve3 65 adds ANC for about the same price as the Evolve2 65.
  • Exception, travellers on a budget: the Evolve2 65 Flex at S$295.00 has longer talk time than the Evolve3 65 Flex and costs S$81.68 less.
  • Exception, matching an existing fleet: if your users and spares are all Evolve2, adding Evolve2 keeps things simple while stock lasts.
  • Replacing working Evolve2 headsets: not worth it. The Evolve2 still does the job; plan the change at the next refresh or when batteries fade.
