5 kVA Online Double-Conversion Power at Unity Power Factor
The Vertiv™ Liebert® GXT5-5000IRT5UXLN is a 5,000 VA / 5,000 W online double-conversion UPS in a 5U rack/tower chassis. Vertiv rates the watt output equal to the VA rating (output power factor up to 1.0), so the full 5,000 W is usable for connected IT load — more real power than a traditional 0.8 or 0.9 PF UPS of the same VA size.
The inverter supplies a regenerated sine wave to the load at all times, so servers, storage and network equipment never see raw mains disturbances and there is no transfer break when utility power fails. Vertiv rates efficiency at up to 95% in online mode and up to 98% in Active ECO mode.
Built for Server Rooms, Edge Sites and Network Cores
The 5U GXT5 5kVA is designed for rack or tower installation with a hardwired input and 2 x IEC C19 + 6 x IEC C13 outlets plus a hardwired output. It is sized for server racks, storage arrays, network cores and small computer rooms where a 2U unit no longer has the capacity.
Vertiv ships the unit with a tower stand and a 4-post rack fixed rail kit, and the gravity-sensing colour graphic display re-orients itself to match the way the UPS is installed.
Scalable Runtime and Hot-Swap Batteries
Vertiv publishes 7 min at full load and 18.5 min at half load on the internal VRLA batteries, rising to 19 min and 48 min with one GXT5-EBC192VRT3U external battery cabinet. Up to 10 cabinets can be added for longer runtime.
Battery modules are hot-swappable and user-replaceable, and the UPS reports battery health and predicts the replacement date so batteries are changed before they fail.
Remote Management
This configuration includes a factory-installed Vertiv IntelliSlot network card for web and SNMP monitoring and environmental sensor support, and works with free Vertiv Power Insight software for monitoring and orderly shutdown. An automatic internal bypass is built in, and external maintenance bypass options are available.

What It Is Suited To
Server racks, storage arrays, network cores, VoIP and CCTV systems and small computer rooms. Add up the continuous watts of your equipment and keep it below 5,000 W with headroom for growth.
Electrical Installation
Input is hardwired, so the UPS must be connected by a licensed electrician on a suitably rated dedicated circuit. Output is on 2 x IEC C19 + 6 x IEC C13, plus hardwire output. Equipment with BS 1363 (Type G) plugs needs IEC C14/C20 leads or an IEC-input rack PDU. Weight is 70.8 kg — plan rack mounting with two people.
Monitoring and Shutdown
The factory-installed IntelliSlot network card provides web and SNMP monitoring and supports Vertiv environmental sensors. Vertiv Power Insight provides monitoring and automatic, unattended shutdown. A spare RDU101 card (Vertiv part 02312384) is available here.
Runtime Extension
Add the GXT5-EBC192VRT3U external battery cabinet (Vertiv part 02312376; 3U, 430 x 630 x 130 mm, 16 x 12 V 9 Ah batteries, 57.6 kg). The UPS supports up to 10 cabinets.

Is this a true online UPS?
Yes. The GXT5 is online double conversion: the load runs from the inverter at all times, so there is no transfer time to battery and the output is a regulated sine wave.
How long will it run on battery?
Vertiv publishes 7 min at full load and 18.5 min at half load on the internal batteries. One GXT5-EBC192VRT3U cabinet extends that to 19 min and 48 min, and up to 10 cabinets can be connected. Real runtime depends on load, battery age and temperature — send us your load and we will estimate it.
Can I plug it into a wall socket?
No. The input is hardwired, so a licensed electrician must connect it on a dedicated circuit. The output has 2 x IEC C19 + 6 x IEC C13 outlets as well as a hardwired output for direct connection of IT equipment.
Is a network card included?
Yes. This configuration ships with a factory-installed IntelliSlot web/SNMP card (Vertiv’s brochure names the RDU120; the Singapore distributor lists the RDU101 webcard bundled). Please ask us if you need a specific card model.
Can it run in parallel?
No. Parallel/redundant operation is supported on the 10, 16 and 20 kVA GXT5 models only.
What warranty do I get?
3 years from Vertiv including battery under its South-East Asia warranty, with Next Business Day response via the Singapore distributor, supplied by SourceIT with a GST invoice. Extended warranty and on-site service options are available — ask us.
