Poly Trio 8300 — Smart Conference Phone for Small Meeting Rooms
The Poly Trio 8300 is HP's entry point into the Trio family, designed for small rooms that need rich conference audio without the cost of a flagship device. HP specifies three cardioid microphones with up to 12 ft (3.7 m) of pickup, a 90 dB speaker and Poly Acoustic Clarity technology providing full-duplex conversation, acoustic echo cancellation and background noise suppression. It connects on a single Gigabit Ethernet drop with IEEE 802.3af Class 0 PoE.
Three Cardioid Microphones, 3.7 m of Pickup
Three cardioid microphones give directional pickup that rejects off-axis noise — the same microphone architecture as the larger Trio models, scaled to a small-room footprint. HP rates coverage at up to 12 ft (3.7 m), which comfortably covers a four-to-six-seat huddle table. The 90 dB speaker fills the room without the boxy sound of a budget speakerphone.
One Cable, One Drop: PoE Class 0 on a Single RJ-45
The Trio 8300 uses a single RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps port and draws power over Ethernet as a built-in IEEE 802.3af Class 0 device, so a small room needs one cable and no power outlet at the table. A 3.5-inch monochrome LCD in 16:9 keeps the interface clear and legible.
Hybrid-Ready Platform Connectivity
HP describes the Trio 8300 as offering connectivity to on-premises and cloud platforms at once, which suits hybrid working, and supports up to three lines with a maximum of one Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams. Wi-Fi audio calling is supported on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on full-radio builds, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity are available. Note that HP also produces a "No Radio" variant (830A0AA) for facilities where wireless is not permitted — please confirm which build you require.
Compact, Practical and Locally Supported
The console measures 33.9 x 29.4 x 6 cm, weighs 735 g and operates from 0 to 40 °C at 5–95% humidity. It ships with a CAT-5E network cable and setup sheet. SourceIT supplies it with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.

Compatibility & Software Support
Platform support
HP describes the Trio 8300 as providing connectivity to on-premises and cloud platforms at once, supporting up to three lines with a maximum of one Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams line. It is a standards-based SIP endpoint and can be provisioned against a hosted PBX or SIP trunk. Where a specific platform certification is a contractual requirement, please ask us to confirm it against the exact SKU before ordering.
Connectivity and BYOD
A single RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps port carries network and power (IEEE 802.3af Class 0). Bluetooth and USB connectivity are available, and Wi-Fi audio calling is supported on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on full-radio builds.
Audio processing
Poly Acoustic Clarity technology provides full-duplex conversation, acoustic echo cancellation and background noise suppression, and the phone supports a broad codec set: G.711 (A-law and µ-law), G.722, G.722.1, G.722.1C, G.729AB, G.719, Polycom Siren 7, Siren 14, iLBC and OPUS.
Management
Deployed devices are managed through Poly Lens for provisioning, firmware and device health, and the phones also support standard SIP provisioning servers used by Singapore SIP trunk and hosted PBX providers.

Frequently Asked Questions — Poly Trio 8300
What size room is the Trio 8300 for?
Small rooms. HP positions it for small rooms requiring rich audio quality, and rates microphone pickup at up to 12 ft (3.7 m) — comfortable for a four-to-six-seat huddle table. For larger rooms, step up to the Trio C60 (92 dB speaker, 22 kHz response, 5-inch colour touchscreen) or the Trio 8800 (up to 20 ft / 6 m pickup).
Does it have a colour touchscreen?
No. The Trio 8300 uses a 3.5-inch monochrome LCD in 16:9. The colour multi-touch 5-inch 720 x 1280 display is a Trio C60 and Trio 8800 feature.
Does it need a power adapter?
No. It is a built-in auto-sensing IEEE 802.3af Class 0 PoE device on a single RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps port, so one Ethernet drop from a PoE switch powers and connects it. Note this is 802.3af Class 0, a lower power class than the 802.3at Class 4 used by the Trio C60 and Trio 8800.
Is Wi-Fi included?
HP documents Wi-Fi audio calling on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz for the Trio 8300, and also produces a "No Radio" build (830A0AA) for environments where a wireless radio is not permitted. Please confirm with us which build you need before ordering — they are different SKUs.
How many microphones does it have?
Three cardioid microphones — the same directional architecture as the larger Trio models, with a 90 dB speaker rather than the 92 dB speaker used in the Trio C60 and Trio 8800.
Can I add expansion microphones?
SourceIT carries the Poly Trio Expansion Microphone Kit (and a second listing, 85X02AA). Expansion microphone compatibility varies by Trio model, so please confirm with us that the kit matches the Trio 8300 before ordering.
Does this come with local Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every Poly Trio 8300 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.
