Poly Rove 40 Wireless DECT IP Phone Handset
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Poly Rove 40 Wireless DECT IP Phone Handset (84H77AA) - Local Warranty
Poly Rove 40 Premium Ruggedised DECT IP Phone Handset
The Poly Rove 40 is the flagship handset in Poly’s Rove wireless DECT IP phone range. It matches the ruggedised Rove 30 — IP65 dust-tight and water resistant, drop proof to 2 m, a 6.1 cm (2.4") 240 x 320 backlit colour display and a replaceable 1100 mAh Li-ion battery rated at up to 18 hours talk and 300 hours standby — and adds the three features that demanding deployments ask for: Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless headsets, a vibrate mode, and an alarm / emergency button.
Bluetooth 4.2 for Wireless Headsets
The Rove 40 is the only Poly Rove handset with built-in Bluetooth. Staff can pair a Bluetooth headset and work genuinely hands-free — picking, packing, treating patients or carrying stock — instead of managing a cable to the handset on their belt. A 3.5 mm wired headset jack remains available for teams that prefer it.
Vibrate Alerting and an Alarm Key
A vibrate mode lets the handset alert discreetly in wards, libraries, hotel back-of-house and any environment where a ringer is disruptive. The dedicated alarm / emergency button gives lone workers and staff in isolated areas a single-press way to raise an alert — a capability neither the Rove 20 nor the Rove 30 provides.
IP65 Rugged with a Full-Shift Battery
Sealed against dust and water jets and rated to survive a 2 m drop, the Rove 40 is built for warehouse floors, production lines and wet areas. Its replaceable 1100 mAh Li-ion battery delivers up to 18 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby, and a charged spare can be swapped in rather than taking the handset out of service.
Secure DECT on the Correct Singapore Band
This is the 1880–1900 MHz build — the DECT band used in Singapore. It is DECT™ security certified with end-to-end encryption maintained through repeaters, gives up to 50 m of indoor range per cell, and registers to any Poly Rove B1, B2 or B4 base station as part of an Open SIP system.
Ideal For
Lone workers and duress-alarm deployments, healthcare and aged care, hotels and hospitality back-of-house, warehousing and manufacturing — anywhere Singapore staff need a rugged handset with a Bluetooth headset or a discreet alert.

Compatibility & Software Support
Poly Rove System Compatibility
The Poly Rove range is a single interoperable DECT system. All Poly Rove handsets — Rove 20, Rove 30 and Rove 40 — register to any Poly Rove base station, and the Rove R8 repeater is compatible with all Poly Rove products. This means you can mix entry-level and ruggedised handsets on one base and add coverage later without replacing what you already own.
Call Platform and Standards Support
Poly Rove is an Open SIP solution and supports SIP-based calling on standards-compliant IP PBX and hosted voice platforms. HP lists the Poly Rove range as Zoom certified. SourceIT can confirm interoperability against your specific Singapore SIP trunk or hosted PBX provider before you order.

A note on the DECT frequency band
Poly builds the Rove range in two radio variants: a 1920–1930 MHz North American SKU and an 1880–1900 MHz EU / ANZ / UK SKU. The Rove 40 stocked by SourceIT is the 1880–1900 MHz build, which is the correct DECT band for Singapore. North American 1920–1930 MHz units bought from overseas will not operate legally or reliably here — always check the band before you buy grey stock.

Frequently Asked Questions — Poly Rove 40
What does the Rove 40 add over the Rove 30?
Three things. Bluetooth 4.2, so staff can pair a wireless headset instead of tethering to the 3.5 mm jack. A vibrate mode, for wards, libraries and quiet areas where a ringer is unwelcome. And an alarm / emergency button, which matters for lone-worker and duress use cases. Everything else — the 2.4" 240 x 320 display, the 1100 mAh battery rated at up to 18 hours talk and 300 hours standby, IP65 and the 2 m drop rating — is shared with the Rove 30.
Can I use a Bluetooth headset with the Rove 40?
Yes. The Rove 40 is the only handset in the Poly Rove range with built-in Bluetooth (version 4.2) for Bluetooth headsets. A 3.5 mm wired headset jack is also provided. Neither the Rove 20 nor the Rove 30 supports Bluetooth headsets.
Is the Rove 40 suitable for lone-worker or duress applications?
It carries an alarm / emergency button and a vibrate mode, which are the handset-side features such deployments depend on. Whether it meets a specific lone-worker policy also depends on how your SIP platform and alarm-handling system are configured — SourceIT can review the requirement with you before you commit to a rollout.
Which base station should I pair it with?
Any Poly Rove base. Use the single-cell B1 (available in the Rove 20 + B1 kit) for up to 10 handsets, the B2 single/dual-cell base for up to 20, or the B4 multi-cell base for large multi-cell sites of up to 254 bases and 1,000 handsets.
Can I swap batteries mid-shift?
Poly specifies the 1100 mAh Li-ion cell as rechargeable and replaceable, so a charged spare can be fitted rather than parking the handset in a cradle. The Rove 30/40 multi-handset battery charging station charges several handsets and spare batteries from one position, which is the usual approach for 24/7 shift operations.
Is this the correct DECT band for Singapore?
Yes — this is the 1880–1900 MHz EU / ANZ / UK build, which is the DECT band used in Singapore. The North American variant runs at 1920–1930 MHz and should not be deployed here.
Does the Poly Rove 40 come with a warranty in Singapore?
Yes. Every Poly Rove 40 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.
