Poly Rove 30 with B2 Base — a Complete Ruggedised DECT System
This kit pairs the Poly Rove B2 single/dual-cell DECT base station with one ruggedised Rove 30 handset, giving a Singapore site a complete wireless phone system out of one box. The B2 supports up to 20 handsets and up to 20 SIP registrations, handling 10 concurrent calls in single-cell mode or 20 in dual cell, with recommended coverage of up to 5,000 sq ft single cell and up to 15,000 sq ft dual cell. Connect it to a LAN port — or power it over Ethernet — register it to your SIP platform and the system is live.
Scales from One Cell to Twenty Handsets
Most SME DECT deployments outgrow their first base station. The B2 avoids that by running as a single cell for a compact site and as a dual cell when you need more floor area and more simultaneous calls, all on the same hardware. Up to three Poly Rove R8 repeaters can be added on top, extending coverage into stairwells, cold rooms and back-of-house areas without new cabling.
An IP65 Handset Built for Warehouse and Production Floors
The bundled Rove 30 is rated IP65 dust-tight and water resistant and drop proof to 2 m (6.6 ft), with a 6.1 cm (2.4") 240 x 320 backlit colour display, three softkeys and four programmable line keys. Its replaceable 1100 mAh Li-ion battery is rated at up to 18 hours talk and 300 hours standby, so one charge covers a full Singapore shift.
PoE-Capable, Open SIP and Centrally Managed
The B2 base takes power from a 5 V 2 A DC adapter or over Ethernet, connects on a 10/100 Ethernet port, and provisions over HTTPS or encrypted XML via TFTP or HTTP. DECT end-to-end encryption is maintained even through repeaters, and the whole system can be managed remotely through PDMS-SP cloud management.

The Poly Rove range is a single interoperable DECT system. All Poly Rove handsets — Rove 20, Rove 30 and Rove 40 — register to any Poly Rove base station, and the Rove R8 repeater is compatible with all Poly Rove products. This means you can mix entry-level and ruggedised handsets on one base and add coverage later without replacing what you already own.

A note on the DECT frequency band
Poly builds the Rove range in two radio variants: a 1920–1930 MHz North American SKU and an 1880–1900 MHz EU / ANZ / UK SKU. The Rove 30 with B2 base kit stocked by SourceIT is the 1880–1900 MHz build, which is the correct DECT band for Singapore. North American 1920–1930 MHz units bought from overseas will not operate legally or reliably here — always check the band before you buy grey stock.

What does this kit include, and what else do I need?
It contains the Poly Rove B2 single/dual-cell base station, one ruggedised Rove 30 handset, a desk stand, two AC power adapters with localised plugs, and documentation. You also need a spare LAN port and a SIP account on your IP PBX or hosted voice platform. No PC, licence server or compute appliance is required.
How does the B2 base compare with the B1 and B4?
The single-cell B1 base (supplied with the Rove 20 kit) handles up to 10 handsets and around 5,000 sq ft. This B2 base runs single or dual cell for up to 20 handsets, 10 concurrent calls in single cell or 20 in dual cell, and up to 15,000 sq ft in dual-cell mode. The B4 multi-cell base goes further again — up to 30 handsets per base and up to 254 bases, 1,000 handsets and 2,000 concurrent calls system-wide.
Can I add more handsets to this system later?
Yes, up to 20 in total on the B2 base. Add the Rove 30 handset to match, the entry-level Rove 20 for lighter-duty users, or the premium Rove 40 where Bluetooth headsets or an alarm key are needed. All three register to the same base.
Does the B2 base support Power over Ethernet?
Yes. Poly lists the B2 as powered either by a 5 V 2 A DC adapter or over Ethernet, which is useful where the base is mounted high on a wall or in a riser with no nearby socket. Two AC adapters are supplied in this kit if you prefer local power.
What if the coverage does not reach the whole site?
Run the B2 in dual-cell mode for up to about 15,000 sq ft, or add up to three Poly Rove R8 repeaters. Each repeater needs only a power outlet — no extra network cabling — and extends reach from roughly 50 m indoors out to as much as 300 m depending on the environment.
Is this kit certified for Zoom or Microsoft Teams?
HP lists the Poly Rove range as Zoom certified. Poly Rove is an Open SIP DECT system rather than a native Teams device, so for Microsoft Teams calling it is normally deployed behind a SIP gateway or Direct Routing SBC. Ask SourceIT to confirm the integration path for your specific platform before you order.
