Poly Rove 20 with B1 Base — a Complete DECT Phone System in One Box

This kit is the simplest way to put a Poly Rove wireless DECT phone system into a small Singapore office, clinic, shop or workshop. It pairs the Poly Rove B1 single-cell base station — an entry-level DECT base HP rates for up to 10 handsets and around 5,000 sq ft of coverage — with one Rove 20 handset, a spare battery, charging cradle, power adapter and Ethernet cable. Connect the base to a spare LAN port, register it to your SIP platform and the system is live. No PC, no licence server and no compute appliance required.

Sized for a Small Site, Ready to Grow

The B1 base handles up to 10 handsets on a single cell, which covers most SME offices, retail units and single-floor clinics. When you outgrow it, nothing is wasted: the same Rove 20, Rove 30 and Rove 40 handsets register to the larger B2 and B4 bases, and up to three Rove R8 repeaters can be added to the B1 itself to push coverage into stairwells, store rooms and back-of-house areas without pulling new cable.

Up to 35 Hours of Talk Time per Charge

The bundled Rove 20 handset is rated by HP at up to 35 hours of talk time in Eco mode and up to 300 hours standby, with a spare battery included in the box. Poly HD Voice with background noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation keeps calls intelligible on a busy shop floor, and a 3.5 mm headset jack is provided for hands-free work.

Secure, Standards-Based and on the Correct Singapore DECT Band

The kit is the 1880–1900 MHz build — the DECT band used in Singapore — and is DECT™ security certified with end-to-end encryption. It is an Open SIP solution that works with standards-compliant IP PBX and hosted voice platforms, is Zoom certified per HP, and can be provisioned and managed remotely through PDMS-SP cloud management.

The Poly Rove range is a single interoperable DECT system. All Poly Rove handsets — Rove 20, Rove 30 and Rove 40 — register to any Poly Rove base station, and the Rove R8 repeater is compatible with all Poly Rove products. This means you can mix entry-level and ruggedised handsets on one base and add coverage later without replacing what you already own.

A note on the DECT frequency band

Poly builds the Rove range in two radio variants: a 1920–1930 MHz North American SKU and an 1880–1900 MHz EU / ANZ / UK SKU. The Rove 20 with B1 base kit stocked by SourceIT is the 1880–1900 MHz build, which is the correct DECT band for Singapore. North American 1920–1930 MHz units bought from overseas will not operate legally or reliably here — always check the band before you buy grey stock.

Frequently Asked Questions — Poly Rove 20 with B1 Base

Is the Rove B1 base a single-cell or dual-cell base station?

The B1 is a single-cell base station. HP describes it as an entry-level DECT base for small deployments needing up to 5,000 sq ft of coverage, supporting up to 10 handsets. If you need dual-cell operation, or more than 10 handsets, step up to the Rove B2 single/dual-cell base; for multi-cell roaming across a large site, use the Rove B4 multi-cell base.

What comes in this kit, and do I need anything else?

The kit contains the B1 base station, one Rove 20 handset, a battery and a spare battery, charging cradle, AC power adapter, Ethernet cable, belt clip and documentation. You will also need a spare LAN port and a SIP account on your PBX or hosted voice service. No PC, licence or compute appliance is required.

How many more handsets can I add later?

Up to 10 handsets in total on the B1 base. Additional handsets are ordered separately — the Rove 20, the ruggedised Rove 30 or the premium Rove 40 all register to this base.

Does the B1 base support PoE?

No. HP lists the B1 as powered by an external universal AC adapter (5 V 1 A DC) only. If Power over Ethernet matters to your installation — for example a ceiling or riser mount with no nearby socket — specify the Rove B2 or Rove B4 base instead, both of which support PoE.

Can I extend the coverage beyond the base station?

Yes. HP lists the B1 as supporting up to 3 Poly Rove R8 repeaters. Each repeater extends coverage from the base’s roughly 50 m indoor reach out to as much as 300 m depending on the environment, and needs only a power outlet — no additional network cabling.

Is this kit the right band for Singapore?

Yes. This is the 1880–1900 MHz variant (Poly part 2200-88080-101 / HP 8F3E3AA), the correct DECT band for Singapore. The North American equivalent, 8F3E1AA, runs at 1920–1930 MHz and is not suitable for local use.
