Poly RealPresence Trio 8800 — Premium Conference Phone with 20 ft Microphone Pickup
The Poly (Polycom) RealPresence Trio 8800 is a premium smart IP conference phone for medium and large rooms. HP specifies three cardioid microphones with up to 20 ft (6 m) of pickup, a 92 dB speaker and a 12.7 cm (5 in) colour multi-touch display at 720 x 1280. It is certified for Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business and Zoom, and connects over dual Gigabit Ethernet with IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE.
20-Foot Pickup for the Full Length of a Boardroom Table
HP's published microphone pickup for the Trio 8800 is up to 20 ft / 6 m — the specification that has kept this phone in boardrooms for years. Three cardioid microphones give directional rejection of off-axis noise, and Poly Acoustic Clarity technology provides full-duplex conversation, acoustic echo cancellation and background noise suppression across a codec set that includes G.711, G.722, G.722.1, G.722.1C, G.729AB, G.719, Polycom Siren 7, Siren 14, iLBC and OPUS.
Certified for Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business and Zoom
HP lists the Trio 8800 as certified for Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business and Zoom — unusually broad platform coverage for a device of this generation, and the reason it remains a practical fit for mixed-platform estates. The 5-inch colour LCD is gesture-based and multi-touch capable with an on-screen virtual keyboard.
Dual Gigabit Ethernet, PoE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2
Two RJ-45 10/100/1000BASE-TX ports let a laptop share the phone's drop, and the unit is a built-in auto-sensing IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE device. Wi-Fi covers 2.4–2.4835 GHz and 5.15–5.825 GHz, Bluetooth 4.2 reaches up to 20 ft, and both USB 2.0 Type-A and USB 2.0 Micro-B ports are provided. A USB Type-A cable is included in the box.
Where the Trio 8800 Sits Today
HP's current Singapore IP conference phone comparison lists the Trio 8300 and Trio C60 as the current line-up, so the Trio 8800 should be understood as the mature, proven RealPresence-era model rather than the newest platform. It remains an excellent choice where the 20 ft pickup and broad certification set match the room. SourceIT supplies it with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.

Frequently Asked Questions — Poly Trio 8800
How far does the microphone pick up?
HP publishes up to 20 ft (6 m) of microphone pickup for the Trio 8800, using three cardioid microphones. That is the specification that makes it suitable for a full-length boardroom table.
Is the Trio 8800 still current?
HP's Singapore IP conference phone comparison page currently lists the Trio 8300 and Trio C60, so the 8800 is best understood as the mature RealPresence-era model rather than the newest platform. It is still specified and supported, and remains a strong fit where its 20 ft pickup and broad certification set match the room.
Which platforms is it certified for?
HP lists Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business and Zoom certification for the Trio 8800. It also works as a standards-based SIP endpoint against a hosted PBX or SIP trunk.
How does it compare with the Trio C60?
The Trio C60 is the current-generation model with the same three cardioid microphones, 92 dB speaker and 5-inch 720 x 1280 touchscreen, but adds a published 22 kHz frequency response and Poly NoiseBlock AI, and is available in both Open SIP (849B4AA) and native Microsoft Teams (849B6AA) builds. If you are standardising a new estate, the C60 is the model to specify.
Does it need a power supply?
Not normally — it is a built-in auto-sensing IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE device, so one drop from a PoE+ switch powers and connects it.
Can I extend coverage with expansion microphones?
Yes. SourceIT carries the Poly Trio Expansion Microphone Kit (and a second listing, 85X02AA). Please confirm with us which kit matches your Trio model before ordering.
Does this come with local Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every Poly Trio 8800 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.
