The ThinkVision M14d puts a 2240 x 1400 panel in a 600-gram body. The 16:10 aspect ratio gives roughly 11% more vertical space than a 16:9 screen of the same width — which on a portable monitor is the difference between seeing a document and scrolling one — and Lenovo publishes 100% sRGB coverage, the highest colour figure in this family.
1500:1 Contrast and 375 Nits Peak
Lenovo publishes 1500:1 typical contrast for the M14d, against 700:1 on the M14 and 1000:1 on the M15, plus 300 cd/m² typical brightness rising to 375 cd/m² peak. On a screen used in hotel rooms, airport lounges and other rooms whose lighting you do not control, that headroom is the specification that actually shows.
Tilts Further Forward Than Anything Else in the Range
The integrated stand covers -5° to +95° of tilt with up to 11 mm of lift. It is the widest tilt range of the five ThinkVision portables and the only one reaching 95 degrees, which helps when the monitor is sitting lower than the laptop it is beside.
Three Things to Know Before Ordering
No sleeve is included — the M14, M15 and M16 each ship with a case, the M14d does not. No power adapter and no speakers, as with every monitor in this family. Budget for a sleeve if this is going to be carried daily; we can quote one.

Compatibility & Fit
The compatibility question that decides everything. Video reaches this monitor only as DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode over USB-C. There is no HDMI port. If your laptop's USB-C port carries data and power but not DisplayPort Alt Mode, it cannot drive this monitor. Send us the laptop model and we will confirm it before you order.
Why 16:10 matters more than the resolution number. At 2240 x 1400 in a 16:10 shape, the M14d gives noticeably more usable vertical space than a 16:9 portable of the same width. For documents, code, spreadsheets and long email threads, that vertical space is what reduces scrolling — more than the extra pixels do on their own.
Powering it. The host laptop normally powers the monitor over the same USB-C cable that carries the picture. Use the second USB-C port with a Power Delivery adapter when you want the laptop charging at the same time, or when the host cannot spare the power. No adapter is supplied — ask us to quote a 65 W USB-C unit.
Carrying it. Worth repeating because it catches people out: Lenovo's box contents for the M14d list the monitor, one cable and a setup guide, and no sleeve or case. Its siblings all include one. If this monitor is going into a bag most days, budget for protection.

Does it come with a case or sleeve?
No. Lenovo's published box contents for the M14d are the monitor, a 1 m USB-C cable and the quick setup guide. The M14, M15 and M16 each include a sleeve; this model does not. It is the single most common surprise on this SKU, so we say it here rather than leaving it to the unboxing. Ask us and we will quote a sleeve with the order.
How is the M14d different from the M14?
The panel. The M14d is 2240 x 1400 in 16:10 at 100% sRGB with 1500:1 contrast; the M14 is 1920 x 1080 in 16:9 at 72% NTSC with 700:1 contrast. The M14d also tilts further (-5° to +95° against -5° to +90°) and adds 11 mm of lift. The M14 is cheaper and includes a sleeve.
Is it a touchscreen?
No. For a 14-inch ThinkVision portable with touch and a pen, the M14t Gen 2 is the model — same 2.2K 16:10 panel, plus 10-point touch and an included stylus. It is linked in the ordering table above.
Does a power adapter come in the box?
No. Lenovo ships no power adapter with any monitor in this family. In most cases you do not need one — a laptop's USB-C port will power the monitor directly. You need an adapter only if your host cannot supply enough power, or if you want to charge the laptop and run the monitor from one wall socket at the same time. Lenovo's own datasheet recommends its 65 W adapter (part SA10E75874) for that. Ask us to quote one alongside the monitor.
Does it have speakers?
No. Lenovo publishes no audio specification for this monitor at all — no speakers, no headphone jack. Sound comes from your laptop or from a separate device. This surprises a lot of buyers, which is why we state it plainly rather than leaving it to be discovered.
Can I connect it over HDMI?
No. There is no HDMI or micro-HDMI port. Video arrives only as DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C, which means the host device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode on its USB-C port. Most business laptops from the last several years do; many budget laptops, some tablets and most desktop USB ports do not. If you are unsure about your machine, tell us the model and we will check before you order.
Will it work with a Mac, an iPad or a phone?
Any host that outputs DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C and can supply enough power will drive it. Lenovo publishes compatibility for Windows; it does not publish a certified list for macOS, iPadOS or Android for this model, so we will not claim one. If a specific device matters to you, ask us and we will check it against Lenovo before you commit.
How fast are the USB ports for data?
This is worth reading carefully. Lenovo labels the ports with a USB 3.x generation, but the data transfer rate published for them is USB 2.0. The downstream port is there for a mouse, a keyboard or a dongle — it is not a fast data hub, and an external SSD plugged into it will run at USB 2.0 speeds.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
Lenovo PSREF states a 3-year limited warranty as the base warranty for this model, and every unit SourceIT sells comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
