PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tower Gen 2, Core Ultra 9 285 / 64 GB / NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada 16GB (30HT0063SG) - 3 Years Premier Support, Singapore Local Warranty

The Fullest P3 Tower Gen 2 Build We Stock

A Core Ultra 9 285 at twenty-four cores, 64 GB of DDR5-5600, a 1 TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD with a 2 TB hard disk beside it, and an NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation with 16 GB. This is the configuration to look at when the work is genuinely heavy and you would rather not revisit the machine in eighteen months.

What You Are Actually Getting, Not Just What the Range Offers

Lenovo publishes the processor, memory, graphics, storage and warranty term as options for machine type 30HT rather than as facts about any one part number — the range runs from a Core Ultra 5 225 to an Ultra 9 285K and from an RTX A400 to a 96 GB RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell. So this page carries a separate This Configuration table taken from the distributor's build sheet for 30HT0063SG. Anything neither source states is marked as not stated rather than estimated.

Room That the Compact Workstations Do Not Have

At 27 litres this is the machine to buy when the job grows. Lenovo publishes four DDR5 slots to 256 GB, up to four disk bays and up to seven drives in total, RAID 0, 1, 10 and 5, an optional optical drive, and a graphics list that reaches a 96 GB RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell. The 3.9-litre P3 Ultra SFF Gen 2 tops out at 128 GB of memory, four M.2 SSDs and no drive bays at all.

Two Claims We Have Taken Off This Page

The previous copy promised "PCIe expansion" without ever stating a slot count or generation, and implied certification for professional applications without naming one. Both are now replaced with Lenovo's actual published figures, or with a plain statement that Lenovo publishes nothing — which on the certification question is the honest answer.

Compatibility & Fit

Warranty on This Build

The distributor's build sheet for this part number states 3 years Premier Support, so that is what the heading on this page claims and what you are buying. It is worth being precise about why: Lenovo's book for this machine type publishes 1-year, 2-year and 3-year limited onsite service as its base warranty options, so a three-year term is one Lenovo genuinely offers here. What the book does not contain anywhere in its warranty section is Premier Support — that tier is stated by the distributor for this part number, not published by Lenovo as a base entitlement. Three years is therefore a real, documented term for this build rather than something we have assumed from the range, and the tier attached to it is Premier Support rather than plain onsite service. Premier Support is a higher tier than plain onsite service: a direct line to advanced technicians and single-point-of-contact case management rather than general consumer support. Because the build sheet states it and Lenovo's book does not, this page reports it as a configured term from the distributor rather than as a catalogue fact. Ask us to confirm it in writing before you raise a purchase order if the service level is what you are buying.

Error-Correcting Memory, Answered

None of the previous copy on these listings said anything about ECC either way, which is a real gap on a workstation. The answer: this machine type supports ECC, but not at every speed. Lenovo publishes DDR5-5600 UDIMM in ECC or non-ECC, and DDR5-6400 CUDIMM in non-ECC only — so on the P3 Tower Gen 2, error correction and maximum memory speed are a trade-off you choose between at order time.

The memory fitted to this build is stated by the distributor as non-ECC. If your workload is simulation, finite element analysis or anything else where a silent bit flip is expensive, tell us and we will quote the ECC configuration instead.

How Many Network Ports You Actually Get

Every build sheet in this range reads "Intel I219-LM, 2x RJ-45". The I219-LM is a single-port controller, and Lenovo publishes one onboard RJ-45 for both of these machine types. A second Ethernet port is possible — Lenovo publishes a range of add-in NICs, from an Intel I350-T4 with four ports up to a 25 GbE Intel E810-XXVDA2 — but it requires a named card that this sheet does not name.

So: expect one Gigabit port unless we confirm otherwise. If your deployment needs two, tell us and we will specify the card.

Slots and Cards

Lenovo publishes four expansion slots on the P3 Tower Gen 2, and the detail matters because two of them are barely usable for anything substantial. Slot 1 is a PCIe 5.0 x16, full height full length, sixteen lanes, 75 W — that is where the graphics card sits. Slot 3 is a PCIe 4.0 x16 physically but only x4 electrically, full height half length, 25 W. Slots 2 and 4 are PCIe 3.0 x1 at 25 W.

So there is exactly one full-bandwidth slot. If you were planning a second GPU, a 25 GbE network card and a capture card in the same machine, the lane budget will not stretch — talk to us about the P5 or P8 instead.

No Thunderbolt on the Tower

Lenovo publishes no Thunderbolt port for the P3 Tower Gen 2. What it does publish is USB4 at 40 Gbps, as two USB-C ports on an optional PCIe x4 adapter card. USB4 carries most of what Thunderbolt 4 does, but if you have Thunderbolt-certified peripherals and a requirement in writing, the P3 Ultra SFF Gen 2 is the machine type that publishes an actual Thunderbolt 4 port.

About the Certification Claims We Removed

The older copy on these listings said things like "certified hardware ensures smooth operation across industry applications" without naming a single application or certifying body. Lenovo does certify its workstations with independent software vendors, but its specification book for these machine types names none — the wording is only "Please visit ISV certifications for Lenovo Workstations".

So this page makes no certification claim. If your purchase depends on a specific certification — SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, AutoCAD, ANSYS or anything else — ask us and we will check Lenovo's current list for that exact application and this exact machine type before you order.

Datasheet & Downloads

Lenovo publishes its specification book per machine type, so the sheet above covers every configuration of the ThinkStation P3 Tower Gen 2 and not only this part number. Use it for the chassis, the ports and the platform; use the build sheet on this page for what is actually fitted to the unit you are buying.

Frequently Asked Questions — Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tower Gen 2

How many drives can it hold?

Lenovo publishes up to four disk bays for 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives, plus an optional front access bay, with a maximum configuration of up to seven drives in total — three SATA plus four M.2. RAID 0, 1, 10 and 5 are supported.

How much memory can it take?

Four DDR5 UDIMM or CUDIMM slots and up to 256 GB, as four 64 GB CUDIMMs.

Is the power supply 80 PLUS rated?

Yes. Lenovo publishes 500 W, 750 W and 1100 W units, each as "92% Autosensing, 80 PLUS Platinum qualified". This build has the 1100 W unit.

Does it take ECC memory?

Yes, this machine type supports it — Lenovo's wording is "ECC on models with ECC DIMMs and ECC capable processor". On the tower, ECC is available on the DDR5-5600 UDIMM option; the faster DDR5-6400 CUDIMM is non-ECC only. The memory fitted to this particular build is stated as non-ECC.

How many Ethernet ports does it have?

One. Lenovo publishes a single onboard RJ-45 on an Intel I219-LM for this machine type. The build sheet says "2x RJ-45", but the I219-LM is a single-port controller and no second network card is named. Add-in NICs are available if you need more.

Is it certified for my CAD or engineering software?

We do not know, and we will not imply it. Lenovo certifies its workstations with independent software vendors but publishes no named list in the specification book for this machine type. Tell us which application matters and we will check Lenovo's current certification list for it.

What warranty does it come with?

The distributor build sheet states 3 years Premier Support. Lenovo's own book publishes 1-year, 2-year and 3-year limited onsite service as base options and does not mention Premier Support in its warranty section at all, so we report the Premier term as a configured one rather than a catalogue entitlement. Singapore local warranty support and a GST invoice come with every SourceIT purchase.
