Why this page carries two specification tables

Lenovo's PSREF specification book is published per machine type, not per part number. It lists the processor, graphics card, memory speed, operating-system edition and warranty term as options the machine type can be built with — it never says which of them this particular part number actually shipped with. The distributor build sheet does state those per-SKU fields. So this page keeps the two apart: the build-sheet table describes the unit we sell, and the PSREF table describes the chassis and platform it is built on. Anything neither source states is marked not stated rather than estimated.

This processor is the one in the range without vPro

Worth knowing before you standardise on it. Lenovo's processor table for this machine type reads Intel vPro Enterprise for the Core Ultra 5 245K and the Core Ultra 9 285K, and leaves the vPro column blank for the Core Ultra 5 225 fitted here. The distributor build sheet does print the word vPro on its wireless line, which is where the confusion starts, but that line describes the Wi-Fi card rather than the processor's management eligibility. If your fleet is managed with Intel AMT, this is the one of the three P3 Ultra SFF listings we would steer you away from — and we will happily quote one of its siblings instead.

The model name on this listing is wrong, and here is the evidence

The product title says "ThinkStation P3 SFF". Lenovo publishes no such model. Three independent sources agree on the real name: Lenovo's support catalogue titles machine type 30J5 "P3 Ultra SFF Gen 2 Workstation (ThinkStation) - Type 30J5"; the PSREF specification book is published under ThinkStation P3 Ultra SFF Gen 2; and this listing's own distributor build sheet reads "ThinkStation P3 Ultra Gen 2". The build sheet's 330 W external adapter and SODIMM memory corroborate it, because those are Ultra traits and not tower traits.

Warranty on this configuration

Lenovo's published base warranty options for this machine type are 1-year, 2-year and 3-year limited onsite service, or no base warranty. The distributor build sheet for this part number documents 3 Year Premier Support, which is a configured Lenovo service level rather than the bare base term — that is the cover quoted in the heading above. Lenovo's PSREF book for this machine type does not list Premier Support among its base warranty terms, so treat it as the configured service level recorded by the distributor and ask us to confirm it on the quotation. The previous version of this page described the same cover as "3 Years Local Warranty", which is a different thing from Premier Support; we have used the wording the build sheet actually documents.

Two build-sheet lines we could not reconcile

First, memory speed. The build sheet says DDR5-4800; Lenovo publishes DDR5-5600 SODIMM and DDR5-6400 CSODIMM for this machine type and no 4800 figure appears in its book. Second, network ports. The build sheet prints "Intel I219-LM, 2x RJ-45", and the I219-LM is a single-port controller while Lenovo publishes one onboard RJ-45. Both readings are printed here rather than reconciled. Ask us to confirm either one in writing if it affects your decision.

What the old page said that we have not repeated

The previous copy claimed the machine "supports further expansion for storage" and described a modular layout. The published reality is a 3.9-litre chassis with two SODIMM slots, an external power adapter, and M.2 positions that are disabled if the optional 3.5-inch disk is fitted — the least expandable P3 in the family. It also asserted certified hardware and certified applications with no list or source; Lenovo publishes no ISV list for this machine type, so those claims have been removed. And it mentioned no operating system at all, though the build sheet documents Windows 11 Pro.

Lenovo's PSREF specification book is the authoritative source for the chassis and platform, and it is published per machine type rather than per part number. Everything in the PSREF table above is taken from it.

Is this really an SFF tower?

It is a 3.9-litre ThinkStation P3 Ultra SFF Gen 2 — a compact desktop, much smaller than the 27-litre P3 Tower Gen 2. The store title says only "P3 SFF", which is not a Lenovo model name. If you were expecting a tower with full-size DIMMs and an internal power supply, this is not that machine, and we would rather you knew before ordering.

Does it come with Windows?

Yes. The distributor build sheet states Windows 11 Pro, English, preloaded.

Does it support Intel vPro?

Not according to Lenovo. The vPro column in Lenovo's processor table is blank for the Core Ultra 5 225. Its sibling listings with the Core Ultra 5 245K and Core Ultra 9 285K both read vPro Enterprise. If AMT management is a requirement, choose one of those instead and we will quote it.

What is the memory speed?

This is worth flagging. The build sheet states SO-DIMM DDR5-4800. Lenovo's specification book for this machine type publishes DDR5-5600 SODIMM and DDR5-6400 CSODIMM — 4800 appears in neither. One of the two documents is wrong and we have printed both rather than picking. Ask us to confirm with the distributor if memory bandwidth matters to your workload.

How many drives will it take?

Up to four M.2 PCIe SSDs at up to 4 TB each — but only without the optional 3.5-inch hard disk, which disables two of the M.2 positions, and only with the M.2-to-PCIe adapter fitted. This build ships one 1 TB M.2 drive.

Can I wall-mount or VESA-mount it?

Lenovo publishes no VESA or mounting option for this machine type. There is a Kensington security slot and a chassis intrusion switch, but no mount is stated.

What cooling does it use?

Lenovo publishes nothing. The PSREF specification book for this machine type contains no cooling or thermal section, so we cannot tell you what cooler a given processor ships with, and we will not guess. Ask us and we will put the question to the distributor in writing.

How loud is it?

Lenovo publishes no acoustic figure for this machine type — no dB(A) rating, no noise class. Any number you see quoted for it did not come from Lenovo.

Which applications is it certified for?

Lenovo does not publish a list in the specification book — it points to its ISV certification portal instead. We have therefore not named any application as certified. Tell us which software you run and we will check the current entry for you.

Is this a Copilot+ PC?

No. Lenovo's own AI PC Category field for this machine reads "AI-Ready Workstations", which is a different classification. The NPU is Intel AI Boost at up to 13 TOPS, below the 40 TOPS threshold Microsoft sets for Copilot+. The higher 23 to 36 TOPS figures in Lenovo's processor table are combined platform totals across CPU, integrated graphics and NPU, not NPU figures, and should not be read as meeting that bar.

How much power does it draw?

Lenovo does not publish a total system power figure or a rule for which power supply a given graphics configuration needs. The wattage in the specification is the supply's rating, which is a ceiling rather than a draw. Let us size the machine with you rather than assuming.
