Online Double-Conversion Power for Server Rooms and Edge Sites
The Eaton 9SX Gen2 9SX11KIG2 is an 11 kVA / 11 kW online double-conversion UPS. The inverter regenerates every watt your equipment draws, so servers, storage, network cores and telecom gear see a clean sine wave (max. 1% distortion on linear loads) regardless of sags, surges or frequency drift on the incoming supply.
For Singapore server rooms, comms rooms and branch sites that cannot tolerate a transfer gap, the 9SX Gen2 tower models give true online protection with a unity (1.0) output power factor, so the kW rating equals the kVA rating.
Unity Power Factor and High Efficiency
With an output power factor of 1, the 9SX11KIG2 delivers its full 11 kW as real power. Eaton publishes 97% efficiency at maximum load, and input power factor above 0.99. The input window is 176–276 V (100–276 V with derating), so routine dips are handled without drawing on the battery.
Hot-Swappable Batteries with ABM+ Predictive Battery Life
The internal battery set (20 x 12 V / 7 Ah, sealed lead-acid) and external battery modules (EBMs) are hot-swappable. Eaton lists ABM+ (predictive battery life) or temperature-compensated charging (user selectable), automatic battery test, deep discharge protection and automatic recognition of external battery units. An internal bypass keeps the load powered while the UPS needs attention.
Graphical LCD, Monitoring Ports and a Card Slot
A multilingual graphical LCD shows status and measurements. Eaton lists USB port (HID compliant), serial port (RS232), mini-terminal block for remote On/Off, mini-terminal block for remote power off, mini-terminal block for dry contact outputs (2 contacts), plus one expansion slot for an optional network card (not included). The UPS works with the Eaton Brightlayer software suite for monitoring and orderly shutdown.

What It Is Suited To
Server racks, storage, core switches, telecom and edge equipment that need a continuously regenerated sine-wave supply. The watt rating (11 kW) is the limit: total the continuous watts of everything you connect and leave headroom for growth.
Operating Systems and Software
The USB port is HID compliant, so common operating systems recognise the UPS as a power source. Eaton's Brightlayer software suite handles monitoring and orderly shutdown; the expansion slot takes an optional Eaton network card for monitoring over the LAN.
Connections and Installation
Output is 8 x IEC C13 + 4 x IEC C19 + hardwired. Eaton includes two IEC-IEC output cables (1.2 m) in the box. The hardwired output connection should be made by a licensed electrician; IEC outlets are not BS 1363 (Type G) sockets, so equipment with Type G plugs needs IEC leads or an IEC-input PDU. For maintenance without interrupting the load, pair it with the matching Eaton HotSwap MBP (MBP11KIG2).

What does online double-conversion mean?
The UPS converts incoming AC to DC and back to AC continuously, so the load always runs from the inverter. There is no transfer gap when the mains fails.
How do I size it — VA or watts?
With a unity power factor both are the same here: 11 kW. Total the continuous watts of your equipment and leave headroom.
How long will it run on battery?
Eaton's specification page for this model does not list runtimes. Runtime depends on load, battery age and temperature, and can be extended with external battery modules — send us your load in watts and we will estimate it.
Can I monitor it over the network?
Yes, with an optional Eaton network card in the expansion slot (not included). USB and RS232 are built in.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Eaton lists it as a free-standing model without a rack-mounting kit; Eaton's Singapore price list notes that 1 set of 744-A1994 rail kit is required for rack installation. Ask us to quote it together.
