PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Cisco Wireless CW9176I Wi-Fi 7 Tri-Band Indoor Access Point (CW9176I-CFG) — Limited Lifetime Warranty
4x4 Wi-Fi 7 for high-density spaces
The Cisco Wireless CW9176I is a tri-band 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) indoor access point with integrated omnidirectional antennas, for offices, lecture halls, hospitals and other high-density environments.
Four spatial streams on every band
The 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz client radios each run 4x4. The Meraki data sheet lists up to 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 5,700 Mbps on 5 GHz and 11,520 Mbps on 6 GHz, an 18 Gbps tri-radio aggregate frame rate, with an option to run two 5 GHz radios.
10 Gbps multigigabit uplink
A single 100M to 10G multigigabit Ethernet port carries the AP. With 802.3bt (Class 5) power all radios run 4x4 at a 10 Gbps link with the USB port active; on 802.3at the 2.4 GHz radio drops to 2x2 and the link runs at 2.5 Gbps.
Location and IoT built in
The CW9176I adds a built-in GNSS/GPS receiver, an ultra-wideband (UWB) radio, a dedicated 2.4 GHz IoT radio and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3 (upgradable to BLE 6), plus a tri-band AI/ML-driven scanning radio for WIDS/WIPS.
Meraki dashboard or Catalyst controller
The CW9176I is a global-use, unified access point: the same unit runs on the Meraki cloud dashboard or under a Cisco Catalyst 9800 controller with Catalyst Center, and can switch between them from Day 1 to Day N.

Compatibility & Software Support
What the -CFG part number means
CW9176I-CFG is the configurable ordering option for the CW9176I. In the Cisco Wireless ordering guide, Wi-Fi 7 access points are offered as RTG (ready to go, default choices for fastest shipment) or CFG (configurable, with selectable accessories and packaging). The access point hardware is the same CW9176I; there is no separate regulatory-domain or management-mode part number.
Meraki dashboard or Catalyst Center / 9800 controller
The CW9176I is a unified access point that runs in either Meraki management mode (Cisco Meraki cloud dashboard) or Catalyst management mode (Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controller, with Cisco Catalyst Center for on-premises operations). Cisco lists Cisco IOS XE 17.15.2 or later for controller mode. Cisco documents a conversion workflow so the same unit can move between modes later.
Licensing
Cisco requires a licence to operate the access point. When ordering, Cisco offers a Cisco Networking Subscription (Cisco Wireless Essentials or Cisco Wireless Advantage), Meraki co-term licensing for cloud-only use, or hardware only for customers who already hold licences; the Meraki documentation notes that a Cisco Subscription or Meraki access point licence is required. Licences are not included with this hardware listing.
Global use and regulatory domain
Cisco states that, beginning with Wi-Fi 7, Cisco Wireless access points are global use: one product ID can be deployed anywhere it is certified, without a region- or country-specific SKU. The CW9176I determines its location during onboarding and applies the matching regulatory settings. Cisco notes that customers are responsible for verifying approval for use in their country (cisco.com/go/compliance) and that 6 GHz operation is disabled in regions where it is not yet certified.
Power planning
Plan 802.3bt (Class 5) switch ports or a CW-INJ-8 injector to run all radios at 4x4 and the full 10 Gbps link. Cisco specifies that the AP does not operate its radios on 802.3af.
Warranty
Sold by SourceIT as a Singapore unit. Cisco states a limited lifetime hardware warranty, for as long as the original end user owns or uses the product, with advance replacement, in its Cisco Wireless 9176 Series data sheet. Keep your SourceIT invoice as proof of purchase for warranty claims.

Frequently Asked Questions — Cisco Wireless CW9176I
What does -CFG mean?
It is the configurable ordering option, where accessories and packaging are chosen at order time. The AP itself is the standard global-use CW9176I.
Can it be managed by Meraki and by a Catalyst controller?
Yes. It runs in Meraki management mode on the Meraki dashboard or in Catalyst management mode on a Catalyst 9800 controller with Catalyst Center (IOS XE 17.15.2 or later), and can be converted between them.
What power does it need?
802.3bt (Class 5) for all radios at 4x4 and a 10 Gbps link (up to 39 W). On 802.3at it runs with 2.4 GHz at 2x2 and a 2.5 Gbps link; on 802.3af the radios do not operate.
Is a licence required?
Yes. Cisco requires a Cisco Networking Subscription (Wireless Essentials or Advantage) or, for cloud-only use, Meraki co-term licensing. Licences are not included.
Do I need a Singapore-specific model?
No. Cisco Wi-Fi 7 APs are global use with a single product ID; the AP applies regulatory settings for its location during onboarding. Cisco advises checking country approval at cisco.com/go/compliance.
