Layer 2 access switching
The Cisco Meraki MS130-8P-HW belongs to the MS130 family, which Cisco Meraki positions for Layer 2 access switching in branch and campus deployments. It provides 8 x 1GbE RJ45 PoE+ ports and 2 x 1GbE SFP uplinks.
120 W PoE+ budget
Every access port supports 802.3at PoE+ at up to 30 W, within a total switch PoE budget of 120 W, for access points, IP phones and cameras.
Compact and fanless
The MS130-8P is fanless and measures 22.2 x 15 cm, so it can sit on a desk or mount on a wall using its integrated wall mount. Power comes from an external 54 VDC adapter included in the box.
Managed from the Cisco Meraki dashboard
Setup, configuration and monitoring are done in the cloud-based Meraki dashboard, with remote packet capture, SNMP/Syslog integration and a local status page on the device.
Access security
802.1Q VLAN tagging, DHCP snooping and 802.1X authentication are supported. The Advanced licence tier adds Adaptive Policy.

Management
The MS130-8P-HW is managed through the Cisco Meraki dashboard: claim it into a Meraki organisation, add it to a network and configure ports and VLANs remotely.
Meraki licence required (sold separately)
Every Cisco Meraki hardware device requires a Meraki cloud licence to be managed, and Meraki sells licences and hardware separately — no licence is included with this switch. Meraki states that without a valid licence the equipment can no longer be configured or changed and stops passing traffic to the internet. The MS130-8P uses LIC-MS130-CMPT-xY (Enterprise) or LIC-MS130-CMPTA-xY (Advanced). Meraki offers the Enterprise tier in 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10-year terms and the Advanced tier in the same terms except 7 and 10 years; Meraki states the MS130 Advanced licence only adds Adaptive Policy. Warranty
Sold by SourceIT as a Singapore unit. Cisco states a lifetime warranty for MS130 Series switches (accessories such as SFP modules, cables and mounting kits carry a 1-year warranty) in its MS130 Series Installation Guide. Keep your SourceIT invoice as proof of purchase for warranty claims.
