Catalyst 9300 hardware, Meraki cloud management
The Cisco C9300-24P-M is the Meraki cloud-managed version of the Catalyst 9300 (the -M suffix). Cisco Meraki describes the C9300-M as combining the simplicity of the Meraki dashboard with powerful Catalyst switching hardware. It is configured and monitored from the Meraki dashboard rather than with Cisco Catalyst Center.
Cloud management with IOS XE
Cisco Meraki documents that -M switches run Cloud Management with IOS XE firmware, with the Meraki management layer natively integrated with IOS XE. A Meraki licence (Enterprise or Advanced) is required; Meraki allows a 30-day grace period for onboarding to the dashboard.
PoE+ for access devices
All 24 downlink ports deliver PoE+ to access points, phones and cameras. Meraki lists 445W of PoE budget with the default 715W AC supply, rising when a second supply is installed.
Modular uplinks, 480G stacking and StackPower

Meraki Licence Required
Cisco Meraki states that cloud-born Catalyst switches (-M) require Meraki licences, with a 30-day grace period for onboarding to the Meraki dashboard. The Catalyst 9300-M licence comes in Enterprise and Advanced editions with 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 year terms; Adaptive Policy, NetFlow v10 (IPFIX) and Encrypted Traffic Analytics are Advanced features. In co-termination organisations, one edition must be used across MS390, C9300-M, MS150 and MS130 switches. The licence is not included with this hardware part number.
Management
The switch runs Cloud Management with IOS XE and is managed through the Meraki dashboard. Cisco Meraki's FAQ describes the Meraki management layer as natively integrated with IOS XE.
Accessories & Uplink Modules
Cisco Meraki lists -M uplink modules for the C9300-M: C9300-NM-8X-M (8 x 1G/10G SFP+), C9300-NM-2Q-M (2 x 40G QSFP), C9300-NM-2Y-M (2 x 25G/10G/1G SFP28) and C9300-NM-4M (4 x multigigabit RJ-45). The Meraki data sheet states that fan spares, StackPower cables, StackWise cables and power supplies are compatible between non-M and -M models (for example STACK-T1-50CM and STACK-T1-50CM-M).
