Lenovo ThinkPad vs Dell Pro vs HP EliteBook: Which Business Laptop Makes More Sense in 2026?
On price, the ThinkPad and the Dell Pro are level and the HP EliteBook costs more. The difference is in what each quote includes. At SourceIT the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 Core Ultra 5 325, 16GB, 512GB, 3Y Onsite is S$2,301, the Dell Pro 5 14 Core Ultra 5 335 vPro, 16GB, 512GB is S$2,291.13 and the HP EliteBook 6 G2i 14 Core Ultra 5 325, 16GB, 512GB is S$2,704 (listed 3 Nov 2026). For a 50-laptop order, the ThinkPad and Dell are S$493.50 apart and the HP costs about S$20,000 more. Choose the ThinkPad if warranty and repairability lead your checklist, the Dell if you manage laptops with Intel AMT, and the HP if you are committed to HP's Wolf Security tools.

SourceIT prices listed 3 Nov 2026. vPro status is from Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 vPro list as reported by Tom's Hardware (25 Mar 2026), and from the Dell listing title. iFixit discloses that it has a business relationship with Lenovo. We have not tested these laptops ourselves.
What about the previous generation?
If you don't need the 2026 processors, the 2025 Arrow Lake models are cheaper and both have vPro. The ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 Core Ultra 5 235U vPro, 16GB, 512GB is S$1,911.60 and the Dell Pro 14 Plus PB14250 Core Ultra 5 235U vPro, 16GB, 512GB is S$2,001.24. That is S$89.64 apart, or S$4,482 over 50 units, in the ThinkPad's favour. The T14 Gen 6 Intel has two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots for up to 64GB, according to PSREF. HP's lowest-priced in-stock EliteBook, the EliteBook 640 G11 Core Ultra 5 125U, 16GB, 512GB, is S$1,650. It uses an older processor generation, so it is not a like-for-like match.
Dell's names changed this year. The 2025 Pro, Pro Plus and Pro Premium became the 2026 Pro 3, Pro 5, Pro 7 and Pro Premium, with the Pro 5 replacing the Pro Plus (Notebookcheck, The Register). Memory differs across the range: Notebookcheck reports the Pro 5 14 has user-upgradeable LPCAMM2, while the Pro 7 14's memory is not user-upgradeable. Our Dell Latitude overview covers the older naming.

How do the management and security features compare?
- Remote management: Intel vPro or AMD PRO is the same technology whichever brand you buy. What matters is the exact processor in the quote. In the table, only the Dell's Core Ultra 5 335 is vPro. For more, read ThinkPad Intel vs AMD.
- Dell groups SafeBIOS, SafeID (a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 security chip) and supply-chain verification as Dell Trusted Devices.
- HP offers Wolf Security, which includes Sure Click, Wolf Pro Security and Protect & Trace with Wolf Connect for remote locate, lock and wipe. The EliteBook 6 G1i data sheet also lists Sure Platform and Tamper Lock.
- Lenovo markets its business security tools under the ThinkShield name. Compare specific features on each maker's data sheet, not the brand names.
What is the total cost over the laptop's life?
For a fair comparison, price all three with the same warranty. The ThinkPad listing already includes 3-year onsite cover. Lenovo's PSREF lists 3-year carry-in and limited onsite options for the T14 Gen 7. Sources show 1-year base cover for Dell and HP: Notebookcheck's Dell Pro 14 Plus review unit came with a 12-month bring-in warranty in its test market, and HP's EliteBook data sheets list a 1-year limited warranty that depends on the country. Dell ProSupport and HP Care Pack upgrades exist, but SourceIT does not list them as separate products. Ask us to quote 3-year onsite cover on all three so the totals are comparable.
Repairs also affect lifetime cost. iFixit gave the T14 Gen 7 the first 10 out of 10 for a T-series, provisional until Lenovo publishes parts and manuals. iFixit noted a near tool-free battery, a standard M.2 SSD, replaceable LPCAMM2 memory and modular Thunderbolt ports. In the Q3 2026 market, Lenovo led with 27.1% share, ahead of HP at 18.7% and Dell at 13.7% (Gartner); IDC put Lenovo at 23.8%. Market share does not tell you how good a single model is, but it does show how big each maker's PC business is.
