Remote Outlet Control Plus Power Monitoring
The Vertiv™ Geist™ CP8953 (14240342) is a Switched rack PDU rated 32A at 230V (7.3kW). Vertiv’s Switched rPDUs “provide all the benefits of a Monitored rPDU plus the ability to remotely turn on, turn off, or reboot power at each outlet” — power-cycle a hung server from anywhere, or stage power-up with user-defined delays to avoid inrush after an outage.
Locking Outlets That Keep Cords Where They Belong
Outlets: 20 x locking C13 + 4 x locking C19. The U-Lock locking receptacles accept standard IEC C14 and C20 power cords and hold them in place, protecting against accidental disconnection when cables are moved during rack work. Circuits are colour-coded orange/green by breaker, so load can be balanced visibly across the two 16A branches.
Space-Saving 0U Vertical Installation
The vertical 0U chassis mounts in the rear channel of the rack, leaving every U free for IT equipment. Vertiv specifies toolless mounting on 1560 mm and 1645 mm centres. The 3 m input cord ends in an IEC 60309 32A 2P+E (IP44) plug for a dedicated 32A single-phase commando socket, the common rack feed in Singapore data centres.
Network Management and Environmental Sensing
Dual 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports support fault-tolerant daisy chaining with RSTP, which Vertiv says ensures data is still reported when a break occurs in the chain. The PDU speaks SNMP v1/v2c/v3, HTTPS, SSH, LDAP, RADIUS and TACACS+, exports CSV/JSON datalogs and offers a JSON API. One RJ sensor jack supports up to 16 optional Vertiv temperature, humidity, airflow and leak sensors.

Power Supply
Needs a 32A single-phase 230V supply terminated in an IEC 60309 2P+E (blue) socket. Ask your facility or electrician to confirm the circuit breaker upstream is rated for 32A continuous. Load across all outlets must not exceed 7.3kW.
Equipment Cords
C13 outlets take equipment cords with a C14 plug end; C19 outlets take C20 plug ends. Devices with a standard Singapore BS 1363 plug need an IEC C14-terminated cord instead. The U-Lock outlets work with standard IEC cords — no special locking cords required.
Software & DCIM
Monitor from a web browser (HTTP/HTTPS) or any SNMP v1/v2c/v3 NMS; authenticate against LDAP, RADIUS or TACACS+; pull data via JSON API or CSV/JSON datalogs; send alerts via SMTP and Syslog. Daisy chaining over RSTP keeps the chain reporting through a single break.
Sensors
One RJ sensor jack supports up to 16 optional Vertiv environmental sensors (temperature, humidity/dew point, airflow, water leak and similar), ordered separately.
