TP-Link 4G+ AX1800 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 Gateway, 1-Pack (Deco X20-4G) - 3 Years Local Warranty
An LTE gateway and an AX1800 Deco mesh node in one tower. Slot in a standard Nano SIM and it serves dual-band Wi-Fi 6 across a home with no fixed line, or runs on fibre with the SIM as a backup path. Three gigabit WAN/LAN ports, two external 3G/4G antenna ports, HomeShield security, and the Deco app for setup and day-to-day management.
Cat6 LTE With Downlink Up To 300 Mbps
TP-Link states that "The Deco X20-4G gateway supports Cat6 with internet downlink speeds up to 300 Mbps, shared by super-fast WiFi 6 with speeds up to 1.8 Gbps"*, and describes the unit as providing "WiFi 6 Mesh coverage through 4G+ CAT6 access". Supported bands are 4G FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28, TDD-LTE B38/B40/B41 and 3G DC-HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS B1/B5/B8. Nano SIM In, Network Up
Setup is deliberately short: "Plug a standard Nano SIM card in and plug in the Deco X20-4G unit." A data SIM is required and is not supplied. Two external 3G/4G antenna ports let you fit higher-gain antennas where the unit has to sit somewhere with poor cellular reception - a ground-floor utility room, say, or a unit facing away from the nearest cell. The box includes two SMB-to-SMA adapters for that purpose; the antennas themselves are not supplied.
AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Across Up To 200 m2
5 GHz at 1201 Mbps and 2.4 GHz at 574 Mbps on 802.11ax, four streams with MU-MIMO and OFDMA. △ TP-Link publishes seamless coverage up to 200 m2: "With clearer and stronger signals enhanced by BSS Color and Beamforming, Deco X20-4G boosts broader whole home WiFi coverage up to 200m2." † Capacity is rated High, and "Deco X20-4G is tested to connect over 150 devices without dragging down performance" †. It runs as a Deco mesh node as well as a gateway, so a further Deco unit extends the same network rather than replacing this one.
Three Gigabit Ports and Three Working Modes
Three gigabit WAN/LAN auto-sensing ports, and published modes of 3G/4G, Router and Access Point. The same box therefore works as a standalone LTE gateway, as a fixed-line router, or as an access point behind an existing router, with 3G/4G failover from Ethernet to cellular to prevent data loss. All ports operate as either WAN or LAN ports, and only one port can serve as a WAN port at a time.**
HomeShield Security and Parental Controls
SPI firewall, access control, and HomeShield Security covering real-time IoT protection, malicious site blocking, an intrusion prevention system and DDoS attack prevention. § Parental Controls run to User Profiles, Filter Levels, Time Limits, Insights and Suspend Connectivity, so each family member gets a profile, a filter level and a time budget, and you can pause the internet for one person without touching anyone else. QoS is HomeShield QoS by device, and WPA3-Personal encryption is supported.

Three working modes are published - 3G/4G, Router and Access Point - with IPv4 and IPv6, and Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE, L2TP or PPTP on the wired WAN. IPTV covers IGMP proxy, IGMP snooping, bridge and tag VLAN.
SIM and network: the gateway takes a standard Nano SIM, which is not supplied. Published bands are in the Technical Specifications above; send us your operator and plan and we will check them against those bands.
Mesh: this gateway runs as a Deco node, so a further Deco unit joins it on one Wi-Fi name and the cellular connection stays with this unit.

What SIM size does it take?
A standard Nano SIM. TP-Link's own setup instruction is "Plug a standard Nano SIM card in and plug in the Deco X20-4G unit." The SIM itself is not included.
How fast is the LTE connection?
TP-Link rates the gateway at Cat6, "with internet downlink speeds up to 300 Mbps, shared by super-fast WiFi 6 with speeds up to 1.8 Gbps"*. Real speeds depend on your operator, the plan, network load and signal.
How many devices will it handle, and how far will it reach?
TP-Link rates WiFi Capacity as High and states the unit "is tested to connect over 150 devices without dragging down performance" †, with seamless coverage up to 200 m2 for a single unit †. The WiFi Range row for the 1-pack is 1-3 bedroom houses.
Do I get external antennas?
No. The published package contents are the unit, an RJ45 Ethernet cable, a power adapter, a Quick Installation Guide and two SMB to SMA adapters - the adapters fit the two external antenna ports, but no antennas are supplied. We can quote them if reception at the intended position is weak.
Can I add more Deco units to it?
Yes. It runs as a Deco mesh node, so a further Deco unit extends the same network and the cellular link stays with this gateway.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
3 years local replacement warranty. 4G gateways appear in no exception row in TP-Link Singapore's warranty policy and take the published 3-year default.
