TP-Link Deco M5 AC1300 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System (3-Pack)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AC1300 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System, 3-Pack (Deco M5) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Deco M5 3-pack is TP-Link's AC1300 dual-band mesh system for homes and small offices where one router cannot reach every room. Three units run as a single Wi-Fi network with one name and one password, and every unit carries two Gigabit ports so a desk, a TV or a printer can still be wired. TP-Link publishes that "a Deco M5 three-pack delivers Wi-Fi to an area of up to 5500 square feet".
AC1300 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Across Three Units
TP-Link rates the Deco M5 at AC1300: 867 Mbps on 5 GHz (802.11ac) and 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz (802.11n), on every unit rather than only at the one nearest the modem. The 5 GHz band carries streaming and video calls, while 2.4 GHz holds the range for smart-home gear and anything further out. TP-Link rates the system's WiFi Capacity as Medium, with Dual-Band to distribute devices to different bands and MU-MIMO to communicate with several MU-MIMO clients at once.
One Network, 5,500 sq ft, No Manual Switching
TP-Link ties its WiFi Range guidance of 3-5 bedroom houses directly to the 3-pack. All three units broadcast one SSID, so a phone or laptop moves between them without dropping the connection or asking you to pick another network. The range comes from TP-Link's mesh technology, four internal antennas that form a signal-boosting array to cover more directions and large areas, and beamforming that concentrates signal towards clients. Optional Ethernet backhaul links the units where cabling already runs between floors.
Two Gigabit Ports on Every Unit
TP-Link publishes 2x Gigabit ports per Deco unit with WAN/LAN auto-sensing, which across a 3-pack gives you six ports in all, spread around the property rather than stacked behind one router. Whichever unit meets your modem becomes the gateway and the others become nodes. A reset button is the only other control on the unit.
Over 100 Devices on One Network
TP-Link's own line on capacity is direct: "Deco can handle traffic from even the busiest of networks, providing lag-free connections for over 100 devices." Across a three-storey house or a small office that is phones, laptops, TV boxes, speakers, cameras and a shelf of smart plugs all associated at once. Both bands stay available, and the system steers devices between them rather than leaving everything crowded onto 2.4 GHz.
HomeCare: Antivirus, Parental Controls and QoS
HomeCare is the Deco M5's published service kit. Its antivirus side adds a malicious site checker, port intrusion prevention, infected device isolation, and notification and log. HomeCare Parental Controls run on custom profiles with content filtering, URL filtering, time limits, bed-time schedules, log insight, usage monitoring and monthly reports. HomeCare QoS can be set by device or by application, so a work call keeps priority over a large download.
Router or Access Point, Managed From the Deco App
The system runs in Router Mode or Access Point Mode, so it can sit behind an existing gateway if your provider supplies one. Setup and day-to-day management happen in the Deco app on Android 5.0 or later and iOS 9.0 or later. WAN types cover Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP and L2TP, IPv4 and IPv6 are both supported, and IPTV is handled with IGMP proxy, IGMP snooping, bridge and tag VLAN.
Ideal For
Singapore homes, maisonettes and shophouse units where a single router leaves dead spots, and small offices that want simple whole-premises Wi-Fi without a controller. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — Deco M5 (3-Pack)
How much area does the 3-pack cover?
TP-Link publishes that "a Deco M5 three-pack delivers Wi-Fi to an area of up to 5500 square feet", and its WiFi Range row gives 3-5 bedroom houses for the 3-pack. Real coverage depends on walls, floors and interference, so treat the figure as a guide rather than a guarantee.
Can I add more Deco units later?
Deco units are designed to be linked into one network from the Deco app. TP-Link does not publish a cross-model compatibility list on the Deco M5 page, so if you want to combine the M5 with a different Deco model, ask us and we will confirm with the distributor before you order.
How many devices can it carry?
TP-Link publishes that "Deco can handle traffic from even the busiest of networks, providing lag-free connections for over 100 devices." That figure is for the Deco system rather than a specific pack size, and TP-Link notes that connected-device counts come from test results under normal usage conditions.
Do I need to keep my ISP router?
Not necessarily. The Deco M5 runs in Router Mode with Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP or L2TP, so it can replace the router function. If your provider's box must stay in place, run the Deco in Access Point Mode instead.
Is HomeCare a paid subscription?
TP-Link lists HomeCare™ as the Deco M5's service kit and states: "TP-Link HomeCareTM is available for free for the first few months after subscription. Please visit and check: www.tp-link.com/homecare". Ask us to confirm the current terms before you rely on a specific feature long-term.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, per TP-Link's published replacement-warranty policy, with a GST invoice on every order.
