Mounting
The BE98D-H uses a 400 x 400 mm VESA pattern and is supplied for wall mounting, with a stand available as an option rather than in the box. Specify a bracket rated for a 98-inch panel and fix into concrete or a properly engineered steel or backed stud wall - never plasterboard alone. Plan the delivery route, lift or hoist access and a multi-person install before the unit arrives. Samsung specifies landscape orientation, so design artwork as a 16:9 landscape canvas.
What it connects to
Three HDMI inputs let a room PC or laptop, a conferencing device or switcher, and a set-top or media player stay permanently connected. HDMI ARC/eARC returns audio to a soundbar, AV receiver or the room's installed sound system, which should be assumed here - the built-in 20W speakers are for basic playback, not an auditorium. One USB-A port plays media from a stick for a standalone screen, and the RF input takes a terrestrial or cable feed for hospitality and lobby channels.
Network and content management

What does the 16/7 rating mean?
Samsung rates the BE98D-H for 16 hours of operation a day, seven days a week, which covers a full trading day, a conference programme or a hospitality service period. For a screen that must run around the clock - a transport hub or a control room - specify a Samsung signage panel rated for 24/7 and we will quote that alternative.
Does it replace a projector?
In many rooms, yes. A 98-inch panel needs no throw distance, no lamp replacement and no darkened room, and it holds 4K detail in full ambient light where a projector would not. Where an image significantly larger than 98 inches is required, a projector or an LED wall remains the right answer, and we can quote either.
Do I need an external media player?
Not for standard signage. Tizen 8.0 is built in, with the Samsung Business TV app for creating and scheduling content and SmartThings connectivity for device management. An external player is only needed where a third-party CMS or an interactive application will not run on the built-in platform.
Is a stand included, and can it be mounted in portrait?
