PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Microsoft 365 Copilot Annual Subscription (CFQ7TTC0MM8R:0002) - Local Support

AI Grounded in Your Own Business Data, Not Just the Web

Microsoft describes Microsoft 365 Copilot as a service that "uses large language models (LLMs) and integrates your data with the Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 apps and services", working "alongside popular Microsoft 365 apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams". The paid licence is precisely what turns web-grounded chat into chat that can reason over your own documents, mail and meetings.

Three Different Copilot Products — Make Sure You Are Buying the Right One

This is where money gets wasted. Microsoft 365 Copilot is the enterprise per-user add-on on this listing, grounded in both web and work data, with no published seat cap. Microsoft 365 Copilot Business is a separate cheaper SKU for smaller organisations with a "License maximum: 300 licenses per customer tenant". Microsoft Copilot Chat costs nothing extra and is web-grounded only — Microsoft: "Unlike Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Chat is not grounded in organizational content like files, emails, or chats as part of the chat experience—it is grounded in data from the web only", and "Using Copilot Chat doesn't require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license". Tell us what you actually need and we will quote the right one.

What the Licence Includes

Per Microsoft's service description: grounding on web data, referenced and uploaded files, work data and organisational context; the Microsoft Copilot app with Chat, Copilot Search, Notebooks, Pages, Create, Researcher, Analyst, the Word, Excel and PowerPoint Agents, Prompt Gallery and Scheduled Prompts; Copilot in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Teams across chat, channels and meetings; Copilot in SharePoint and SharePoint agents; declarative agents, Agent Builder, Microsoft 365 Copilot Connectors and Power Platform connectors; Enterprise Data Protection; Microsoft Purview controls; and Copilot Analytics in Viva Insights.

Your Prompts Are Not Used to Train Microsoft's Models

The question every buyer asks, answered in Microsoft's own words: "Prompts, responses, and data accessed through Microsoft Graph aren't used to train foundation LLMs, including those used by Microsoft Copilot." Its Copilot FAQ puts the same point as "No, prompts and responses aren't used to train foundation models under enterprise data protection." Where your data is processed is a separate question, and the answer for Singapore is set out below.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Annual Subscription Datasheet — Licensing and Specifications

The Three Copilot Products, Compared

Microsoft 365 Copilot (this listing) Enterprise per-user add-on. Grounded in web and work data. No published seat cap. Sold as "Annual subscription—auto renews"
Microsoft 365 Copilot Business A separate, cheaper SKU for smaller organisations. "License maximum: 300 licenses per customer tenant". Annual subscription with annual billing
Microsoft Copilot Chat "Included" at no additional cost. Web-grounded only — not grounded in your files, emails or chats. Includes Copilot Pages, file upload, image generation and enterprise data protection, with agent usage billed on a metered basis

Licensing

Licensed by Per user, as an add-on to a qualifying base licence
Qualifying base licences Microsoft 365 E7, E5, E3, F1, F3, Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, Apps for business and Apps for enterprise; Office 365 E5, E3, E1 and F3; Microsoft Teams Essentials, Enterprise and EEA; plus listed Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Planner, Project, Visio and Clipchamp plans. Government and Education variants are available separately
Qualifying base for Copilot Business Two Microsoft sources disagree. The licensing documentation lists Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium and Microsoft 365 Apps for Business. The December 2025 Partner Center announcement says customers "must have an active Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard, or Premium subscription" — Apps for Business is absent
Minimum purchase Not published by Microsoft. Seat figures that appear in Microsoft's promotion tables are promotion eligibility thresholds, not purchase minimums
Term Twelve months as sold by SourceIT. Microsoft publishes the enterprise plan as "Annual subscription—auto renews"

Related SKUs Microsoft Publishes

Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot Generally available from 1 July 2026. 300-licence maximum, annual subscription with annual billing
Microsoft 365 Business Premium with Copilot Generally available from 1 July 2026. 300-licence maximum, annual subscription with annual billing
A naming inconsistency to be aware of Microsoft's licensing documentation now titles the add-on "Microsoft Copilot", while its commercial pages and Partner Center announcements say "Microsoft 365 Copilot". Both names are in current use on live Microsoft pages and no formal rename has been published

Data Handling and Residency

Training "Prompts, responses, and data accessed through Microsoft Graph aren't used to train foundation LLMs, including those used by Microsoft Copilot"
Where queries are processed "For EU customers, Microsoft Copilot is an EU Data Boundary service. Customers outside the EU may have their queries processed in the US, EU, or other regions." Microsoft adds that calls to the language model "are routed to the closest data centers in the region, but also can call into other regions where capacity is available during high utilization periods"
Advanced Data Residency Singapore is not on Microsoft's published ADR geography list. Malaysia and Indonesia are
Copilot-specific residency commitment None added. Microsoft's residency page records "No modifications" for both Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat, meaning they inherit the underlying workload commitments
Covered workload since 1 March 2024, when Microsoft Copilot was added as a covered workload in the data residency commitments in the Microsoft Product Terms

What Microsoft Does Not Publish for This Product

The following are commonly asked about but are not stated on any current official Microsoft source for this product, so SourceIT does not quote them: a minimum seat count, a dedicated lifecycle or retirement page for Microsoft 365 Copilot, any Singapore-specific data residency commitment, a Singapore dollar list price and a formal announcement of the naming change between Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot. We would rather leave a field blank than print a figure we cannot substantiate.

Lifecycle, End of Support and Entitlement

SourceIT sells this as a twelve-month subscription with a GST invoice in Singapore. The subscription is a right to use the service for the term, not a perpetual licence: when the term ends the entitlement ends unless it is renewed.

Microsoft publishes no dedicated lifecycle page for Microsoft 365 Copilot and no retirement or replacement announcement. Because Microsoft does not bind this product to a policy, this listing makes no Modern Lifecycle claim for it. One published change worth knowing: the Copilot app URL moves from m365.cloud.microsoft to copilot.cloud.microsoft from 18 August 2026, with broad deployment from mid-September 2026. If you have that address in a bookmark, a proxy allow-list or a conditional access rule, update it.

Talk to our team before the renewal date rather than after it. Seat counts, mid-term changes and co-terming with the rest of your Microsoft estate are all easier to arrange in advance, and we can quote the alternatives if a bundle would work out better for you.

Support and Entitlement Position

This is a software subscription, not hardware. It carries no hardware warranty, and any warranty term you see on a hardware listing does not apply here. What you are buying is a twelve-month right to use the service, together with SourceIT's local support in Singapore. Microsoft's own condition is that technical and billing support for a subscription bought through a partner runs through that partner, so for this subscription that means us: raise the ticket with SourceIT and we escalate to Microsoft where it needs to go. Renewal, seat changes and co-terming are handled on your SourceIT account. Ask our team for the current entitlement position in writing with your quotation.

Compatibility, Deployment and System Requirements

Check what you already hold before you buy. Copilot is an add-on and needs a qualifying base licence underneath it — Microsoft's list runs from Microsoft 365 E7, E5, E3, F1 and F3 through Business Basic, Standard and Premium and the Apps plans, plus a range of Office 365, Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Planner, Project, Visio and Clipchamp plans. Send us your subscription list and we will confirm eligibility and, just as importantly, whether the cheaper Copilot Business SKU would serve you better.

Singapore is not one of the geographies Microsoft lists for Advanced Data Residency. Microsoft's published ADR list runs Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Qatar, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom — Malaysia and Indonesia are on it and Singapore is not. Advanced Data Residency also requires 100 per cent licence coverage of the paid licences in a tenant. Separately, the EU Data Boundary covers the 27 EU member states plus Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland, scoped by sign-up location, so a Singapore-registered tenant is out of scope for it. If data residency is a hard requirement for your organisation, raise it with us before you order rather than after.

One nuance on Copilot Chat that catches finance teams out: Chat itself costs nothing extra, but agent usage inside it is not free. Microsoft describes pay-as-you-go agents in Chat as "priced on a metered basis", billed through Copilot Credits. If you intend to run agents at any scale, the credit consumption belongs in the budget conversation alongside the seat count, and we can price Copilot Studio capacity packs with it.

Frequently Asked Questions — Microsoft 365 Copilot Annual Subscription

What is the difference between Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Business and Copilot Chat?

Microsoft 365 Copilot — this listing — is the enterprise per-user add-on grounded in both web and work data, with no published seat cap. Copilot Business is a separate, cheaper SKU for smaller organisations with a maximum of 300 licences per tenant. Copilot Chat is included at no additional cost and is web-grounded only: Microsoft states it "is not grounded in organizational content like files, emails, or chats". Tell us your organisation size and what you want Copilot to see, and we will quote the right one.

Does Microsoft train its models on our data?

No. Microsoft's published statement is: "Prompts, responses, and data accessed through Microsoft Graph aren't used to train foundation LLMs, including those used by Microsoft Copilot." Note that this is a statement about training, not about processing location — those are two different questions and the second one has a less comfortable answer for a Singapore tenant.

Where is our data processed?

Microsoft's published position: "For EU customers, Microsoft Copilot is an EU Data Boundary service. Customers outside the EU may have their queries processed in the US, EU, or other regions." It adds that calls to the language model are routed to the nearest data centres "but also can call into other regions where capacity is available during high utilization periods". Singapore is not on Microsoft's Advanced Data Residency geography list and the EU Data Boundary does not cover a Singapore tenant. If residency is a hard requirement, raise it with us before ordering.

What base licence do we need?

One from Microsoft's qualifying list, which includes Microsoft 365 E7, E5, E3, F1, F3, Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, Apps for business and Apps for enterprise, plus Office 365 E5, E3, E1 and F3, Microsoft Teams Essentials and Enterprise, and a range of Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Planner, Project, Visio and Clipchamp plans. Send us what you hold and we will confirm.

Is there a minimum order?

Microsoft publishes no minimum seat count for Copilot. Be careful with any minimum figure you are quoted from Microsoft's promotion tables — those are promotion eligibility thresholds, not purchase minimums. Ask our team what the practical minimum is on the route we would quote you.
