Logitech MK540 Wireless Combo
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Logitech MK540 Advanced Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo (920-008682) - 2 Years Local Warranty
Unifying Wireless Combo Built for Business Fleets
The Logitech MK540 Advanced Wireless Combo (920-008682) is the Unifying-based full-size set that Singapore IT teams deploy when they want one encrypted 2.4 GHz receiver, a familiar full-size layout and a service life measured in years. Logitech rates the combo at 10 million keystrokes and clicks with MTTF above 150,000 hours, and publishes a full regional part-number table — both of which matter when you are buying by the hundred rather than the unit.
107-Key Full-Size Layout with Integrated Palm Rest
The K540 keyboard carries a full-size 107-key layout with an integrated 10-key number pad, an integrated palm rest and customisable F-keys with music and media controls. Three adjustable height options — natural, 4° flat and 8° tilt — let each user set their own angle. Logitech describes the keys as familiar in shape and feel and whisper-quiet, with abrasion-resistant key printing so legends survive years of use.
Spill-Resistant to 60 ml with a Ten Million Keystroke Rating
The keyboard is spill-resistant, tested to a maximum of 60 ml, and rated for a 10 million keystroke and click service life. Power and battery indicators plus a Caps Lock indicator and an on/off switch complete a build designed for shared desks. At 457.3 x 193.5 x 24 mm and 805 g it is a substantial, stable board that does not slide around under fast typing.
Encrypted Unifying Connection and Multi-Year Battery Life
One Logitech Unifying USB receiver connects both devices over an encrypted 2.4 GHz link with a 10 m range, and can adopt other Unifying peripherals onto the same dongle. The keyboard runs up to 36 months on two AA cells and the mouse up to 18 months on a single AA. Logitech publishes a carbon footprint of 10.17 kg CO2e for the combo.

Compatibility & Software Support
Operating system support
- Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or later
- ChromeOS
An available USB-A port is required for the Unifying receiver. Note that Logitech’s OS table for the MK540 lists only Windows and ChromeOS, even though the same datasheet offers its companion software for both Windows and macOS — macOS is therefore implied but never formally stated, so we do not claim it. If documented macOS support is a requirement, the MK850 Performance Combo lists macOS 10.10 or later.
Keyboard layouts
Logitech produces the MK540 in US, French Canadian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, UK, Swiss, Belgian/Dutch, Italian, Pan-European, US International, Russian, Turkish, Czech-Slovak, Hebrew, Hungarian, Croatian-Slovenian and Arabic layouts. 920-008682 is the US layout, which is the standard layout for Singapore.
Software
The MK540 shipped with Logitech Options 2.1 for customising F-keys and programmable keys. Logitech Options has since reached end of support and Logitech now directs users to Logi Options+. No software is required for normal typing and pointing — the combo is plug-and-play once the Unifying receiver is connected.
SourceIT supplies this product with 2 years local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice. Logitech’s own published manufacturer warranty period may differ by region — contact SourceIT if you need the manufacturer terms in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions — Logitech MK540 Advanced
What does Unifying mean, and why does it matter for a business deployment?
Logitech Unifying is an encrypted 2.4 GHz protocol where one small USB receiver can serve several Logitech peripherals, not just the two in the box. For a fleet that means a user can add a Unifying presenter or a second mouse without consuming another USB port, and the receiver can be re-paired if a device is swapped. The MK850 is the other Unifying combo in this range.
How does the MK540 compare with the MK850 and the MK345?
All three have an integrated palm rest. The MK345 is the value option on a plain 2.4 GHz receiver with a right-handed mouse. The MK540 Advanced adds Unifying, a 107-key layout with customisable F-keys, three tilt positions and a 10 million keystroke rating. The MK850 Performance tops the range with dual Bluetooth and Unifying connectivity, Easy-Switch across three devices and the 8-button M720 Triathlon mouse.
Is the MK540 mouse suitable for left-handed users?
Yes. Logitech describes it as a full-size ambidextrous mouse with soft rubber side grips, so one part number covers left- and right-handed staff. Note that it is a single-channel device — it does not support Easy-Switch multi-device pairing. If you need to move one mouse between three machines, the MK850 is the combo built for that.
Which keyboard layout ships with the Singapore SKU?
920-008682 is the US layout, which is the standard for Singapore. Logitech produces the MK540 in eighteen layouts under different part numbers — the full table is in the Ordering Information section above — so if you are consolidating a regional rollout across multiple countries we can quote the matching layout SKUs alongside this one.
Do I need software or a licence to use it?
No licence and no subscription. The MK540 is plug-and-play once the Unifying receiver is connected. Logitech Options was the original companion app for customising F-keys and programmable keys; it has reached end of support and Logitech now points users to Logi Options+. Nothing needs to be installed for normal typing and pointing.
How long do the batteries last?
The keyboard runs up to 36 months on two AA cells, based on Logitech’s estimate of 2 million keystrokes per year. For the mouse, Logitech’s own sources differ — the datasheet and the Singapore product page say up to 18 months on a single AA, while the support specification page says 24 months. We publish both. Power and battery indicators on the keyboard give warning before either goes flat.
Are spare Unifying receivers available?
Yes — because the MK540 is a genuine Unifying device, a standard Logitech Unifying receiver can be paired to the keyboard and mouse using Logitech’s Unifying software if the original is lost. That is a real advantage over the non-Unifying combos in this range such as the MK295 and MK345, where a lost receiver means replacing the set. Contact SourceIT to quote a spare receiver.
Does the MK540 Advanced come with warranty in Singapore?
Yes. Every MK540 Advanced sold by SourceIT comes with 2 years local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.
