The HPE Aruba Networking CX 6100 12G Class4 PoE 2G/2SFP+ 139W Switch (JL679A) is part of HPE Aruba Networking's CX 6100 series, a family of entry-level access switches that HPE positions for enterprise branch offices and SMB networks. It provides 12 x 10/100/1000BASE-T Class 4 PoE + 2 x 10/100/1000BASE-T + 2 x 1/10G SFP+, running the AOS-CX operating system used across HPE Aruba Networking CX switches.

A dedicated ASIC delivers very low latency, increased packet buffering and adaptive power consumption, and HPE states that no switch software licensing or subscriptions are required.

139 W of Class 4 PoE for Access Points, Phones and Cameras

This model supplies IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE with up to 30 W per port and a total PoE budget of 139 W, enough to power Wi-Fi access points, IP phones and IP cameras directly from the switch. It is compact and fanless, which suits offices, classrooms and other space-constrained or noise-sensitive locations.

Built-In 1/10GbE Uplinks and Stacking

Two built-in 1/10GbE SFP+ uplinks help avoid bottlenecks at the access layer. HPE lists Virtual Switching Framework (VSF) support for up to six switches in a stack through chain or ring topology, so several switches can be managed as one.

Layer 2 Features, Static Routing and Flexible Management

HPE lists Layer 2 capabilities with static routing, access control lists (ACLs), robust quality of service (QoS), traffic prioritisation, sFlow and IPv6. Manage the switch from the cloud with HPE Aruba Networking Central, or locally through the web GUI or industry-standard CLI. Central cloud management is licensed separately; ask us to quote it with the switch.
