Three Small Drawers for Genuine Separation
Ergotron's triple configuration divides the same module width into three separate small drawers. Where a round requires items kept apart — by patient, by route, or by shift — three compartments do what one large drawer cannot, at the cost of what will physically fit in each.
General Storage, Not a Medication-Delivery Drawer
Worth noting when you specify: Ergotron's copy for this drawer is about added storage, with none of the "medication delivery" language it uses for the SV43 and SV44 drawer families. If the requirement is a controlled medication round with auto-locking and PIN administration, the SV43 or SV44 drawers on a matching cart are the correct route.

Ergotron's single, double and triple describe how many drawers sit side by side within one module, not how many are stacked: single gives one large area, double gives two medium drawers, triple gives three small ones, all in the same module width. There is no "Triple Tall" in Ergotron's range, which is consistent with the tall option existing only on the wider-compartment configurations.
Supplemental, not primary. Ergotron describes this drawer as attaching under an existing drawer — either a primary or another supplemental, so they can be stacked downward. It is not a standalone module: a cart with no drawers at all needs a primary drawer first, and this adds capacity below it.
Which cart family. Ergotron names "SV Primary Storage Drawer, Single" on its StyleView SV41 series datasheet, and the SV42 datasheet describes its configurations in the same primary / supplemental vocabulary. Note the absence in Ergotron's copy of the phrase "for medication delivery", which it uses for the SV43 and SV44 drawer families — these plain SV drawers are general storage.
