For a clinician running an EMR beside imaging, or a pharmacy checking an order against a chart, the second screen removes the constant alt-tab that slows every task on a single-screen cart.
Two Screens Without a Second Cart
Adding a screen to an existing StyleView is far cheaper than adding a cart, and it keeps the same footprint in a corridor or bay where floor space is already contested. The kit fits the cart's own lift assembly, so both displays move together as the worksurface is raised and lowered.
Check the Weight Limits Before You Specify the Screens
This is the part that catches people out. Ergotron's StyleView HD monitor accessory guidance sets a total mounted weight range and a per-screen limit, and on SLA-battery carts requires the two monitors to be matching. Compatibility & Fit
Ergotron does not publish a specification table against part number 98-030. What it does publish is a user's guide, "StyleView HD Monitor Accessory", document 888-98-028-W-01 rev. H, which covers a two-monitor crossbar assembly for StyleView carts. That guide prints figures worth planning around, and we quote them with their source rather than presenting them as this SKU's datasheet, because the document does not print a sales part number:
- Total weight of monitors when mounted: 14–24 lb (6.2–10.8 kg)
- Each monitor: 7–12 lb (3.1–5.4 kg)
- Maximum monitor width: under 25" (635 mm)
- On SV42/44 SLA carts: monitors must be 12 lb or less each and matching
- Not intended for use with SV40, SV41 or SV42/44 LiFe carts
- Do not exceed the cart's height-adjustment assembly capacity of 35 lb
- If combined display and CPU weight exceeds 27 lb (10.4 kg), the CPU must move to a rear-mounted CPU holder, ordered separately
That last exclusion matters commercially: if your fleet is SV40, SV41 or LiFe-powered SV42/SV44, do not order this kit on the assumption it fits. Send us your cart part numbers and we will confirm with Ergotron before the order goes through — getting this wrong means a cart that cannot safely carry what you have bought for it.
