Mounts Any DS100 Desk Stand Through a Grommet Hole
Ergotron's own description is precise: this base adapts any DS100 for attachment through a grommet hole in a worksurface. Where a desk clamp cannot reach — a thick worksurface, a bench with a modesty panel, a desk whose edge is already occupied — the existing cable grommet becomes the mounting point.

The base accepts openings from 3/8" to 3" (10 to 76 mm) across, which covers the standard 60 mm and 80 mm grommets used in most office furniture as well as smaller cable ports. Ergotron rates it for worksurfaces up to 3-1/4" (83 mm) thick.

Two measurements decide whether this base will work on your desk. The grommet hole must be between 3/8" and 3" (10 to 76 mm) across — standard 60 mm and 80 mm office grommets are comfortably inside that — and the worksurface must be no thicker than 3-1/4" (83 mm). Measure the actual board, not the visible edge trim.
One point of honesty on that thickness figure: Ergotron's own documents disagree. A second entry in the DS100 parts list gives 4" (102 mm), while the order guide and another parts-list entry both give 3-1/4" (83 mm). We publish the more conservative and more frequently stated figure. If your worksurface falls between the two, ask us and we will confirm with Ergotron rather than let you find out on site.
The base takes the DS100 1.5" round pole and is listed by Ergotron as the grommet option across the dual horizontal, dual vertical, triple and quad DS100 desk stands. It replaces the stand's clamp or free-standing base — it does not add capacity, so the display limits remain those of the pivots you fit.
