Business desk phone for Cisco call control
The Cisco IP Phone 8851 (CP-8851-K9=) is a Gigabit Ethernet desk phone for knowledge workers and managers, registered to Cisco call control such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (12.5 and later), Unified CME, Business Edition 6000 or Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution.
5-inch colour display
A 5-inch 800 x 480 widescreen VGA backlit colour display shows call information, directories and applications, with localised language support including right-to-left text.
Bluetooth and Intelligent Proximity
Bluetooth 3.0 EDR (Class 1, up to 20 m) connects wireless headsets. Intelligent Proximity pairs the phone with a mobile: mobile call audio can be moved to the 8851, and call history and contacts can be synchronised to the desk phone.
Headset flexibility and USB charging
An RJ-9 analogue headset jack, an AUX port for electronic hookswitch control, and a side USB port for wired or wireless USB headsets are provided. The USB port also delivers up to 500 mA at 5 V (2.5 W) for smartphone charging.
HD audio
Wideband audio on the handset, headset and full-duplex speakerphone, with acoustic echo cancellation and noise reduction. The handset is hearing-aid compatible.
Expandable
Five programmable line keys support multiple lines or features. Up to two Cisco IP Phone 8851/61 Key Expansion Modules add 28 keys each (56 in total).

Call control (this part number)
CP-8851-K9= ships with enterprise firmware for Cisco call control: Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.5 and later, Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express 10.0 and later, Cisco Business Edition 6000, and Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution.
Webex Calling and third-party SIP
Cisco sells a separate multiplatform-firmware version, CP-8851-3PCC-K9=, for Cisco Webex Calling, BroadWorks and certified third-party SIP platforms. Confirm which firmware your platform needs before ordering.
Lifecycle status
Cisco has not published an end-of-sale notice for the IP Phone 8851 as of October 2026; the 8800 Series support page lists it as an available model.

What the Part Number Covers
CP-8851-K9= is the phone with enterprise firmware. Power Cube 4 local power, Key Expansion Modules (CP-8800-A-KEM=) and the wall-mount kit (CP-8800-WMK=) are separate accessories; the Cisco datasheet does not publish a full in-the-box list.

Does the IP Phone 8851 support video calls?
No. The 8851 is an audio desk phone; Cisco's datasheet lists no camera or video calling.
Will it work with Webex Calling?
