The TK705i runs on a 4LED engine rated at 20,000 hours in Normal mode and 30,000 hours in ECO mode. Nothing has to be re-ordered part way through the projector's life and there is no lamp-change downtime to plan around, which is the single biggest difference in ownership cost between this model and a lamp projector. LED also strikes at full output almost immediately, so the projector suits rooms where it is switched on for an hour and off again rather than left running all evening. Cooling load is lower too, which is why the published noise figure is 26 dBA.
1.3x Zoom Lens for Ordinary Room Depths
A 1.0 to 1.3 throw ratio with 1.3x optical zoom gives real placement latitude: a 100-inch 16:9 screen needs somewhere between roughly 2.2 and 2.9 metres of throw distance, which covers most living rooms, study rooms and small meeting spaces without forcing the projector into an awkward position. Zoom means the mounting point does not have to be measured to the centimetre before the bracket goes up. Auto vertical and horizontal keystone, auto focus and auto screen fit then square the image to the screen, so a projector moved between rooms does not need re-aligning by hand each time.

HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG are supported with dedicated HDR Auto Cinema, HDR FPS and HDR RPG modes, and 30-bit processing gives 1.07 billion colours for cleaner gradients. Input lag is 5ms at 1080p, 2K and 4K 60Hz, so the same projector handles film nights and console gaming without a compromise setting. A 12V trigger output is provided for a motorised screen.

Throw distance and screen size
Throw ratio is 1.0 to 1.3 with 1.3x zoom, so screen width multiplied by the ratio gives the throw distance. Working from BenQ's published figures: a 100-inch 16:9 screen is 2.21 metres wide and sits between about 2.2 and 2.9 metres from the lens; a 120-inch screen is 2.66 metres wide and sits between about 2.7 and 3.5 metres. Projection offset is 100% full height, so the image bottom edge lines up with the lens centre in a normal table-up orientation.
Mounting and alignment
Table or inverted ceiling mounting are both supported, and BenQ lists the CM00G3 as the optional ceiling mount for this model. The 1.3x zoom means the bracket position has some tolerance. 2D keystone gives auto vertical correction of +/-30 degrees and auto horizontal correction of +/-20 degrees, with auto focus and auto screen fit for alignment.
