PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ASUS ROG NUC 16 (RNUC16JNK9X389A3) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The RTX 5070 Ti Compact Gaming PC — 1440p Ultra and Entry 4K, Without a Tower
The ASUS ROG NUC 16 RNUC16JNK9X389A3 pairs a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU carrying 12 GB of GDDR7 — a genuine step up from the entry RTX 5060 configuration in this range, in a 3-litre chassis roughly the size of a stack of hardcover books. For a Singapore gamer or AV professional searching for an RTX 5070 Ti compact gaming PC that does not need a full ATX tower's worth of desk space, this is the middle tier of the ROG NUC 16 line.
32 GB of DDR5-6400 memory and a 1 TB NVMe SSD are fitted as standard, Windows 11 Home is pre-installed, and the system is ready to run out of the box.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU — 5,888 CUDA Cores, 992 AI TOPS
The RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU carries 12 GB of GDDR7 memory and 5,888 CUDA cores on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture, with fifth-generation Tensor Cores rated at 992 AI TOPS. That combination is enough headroom for 1440p ultra settings with ray tracing and DLSS 4 enabled, and for entry-level 4K gaming where frame generation is doing meaningful work. It sits one tier below the RTX 5080 configuration in this same chassis, and comfortably above the RTX 5060 entry model.
Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus — 24 Cores, 5.5 GHz Turbo
The Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus is a 24-core, 24-thread hybrid processor (8 Performance + 16 Efficient cores) with 36 MB of Intel Smart Cache and a 5.5 GHz maximum turbo — four more Efficient cores and a higher cache figure than the Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus used in the entry configuration. As with the rest of this generation, core count equals thread count; the Performance cores do not run Hyper-Threading. The integrated Intel AI Boost NPU adds 13 peak TOPS on top of the discrete GPU's compute.
32 GB DDR5-6400, Dual Channel
Memory ships as 32 GB across two CSO-DIMM modules running at DDR5-6400 — a faster module type and double the capacity of the 16 GB DDR5-5600 kit fitted to the RTX 5060 entry configuration. Storage is a 1 TB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, with a second, empty M.2 2280 slot for future expansion.
Triple-Fan Vapor Chamber Cooling, Built for the 380 W Adapter Tier
This configuration ships with the 380 W external power adapter, the same unit used on the RTX 5080 flagship, reflecting the higher combined CPU/GPU power budget against the RTX 5060 entry model's 280 W brick. ASUS's QuietFlow Cooling — three fans and a dual vapor chamber — is identical across the whole ROG NUC 16 range, so it is sized with this power tier in mind from the outset rather than being a cut-down solution.

Connectivity & Setup / Thermal Design
Cooling and Thermal Design
The RTX 5070 Ti configuration uses the same QuietFlow Cooling as every other build in the ROG NUC 16 range: three 102 x 102 x 17 mm fans against a dual vapor chamber, which ASUS states improves CPU thermal coverage by 12% over the prior ROG NUC generation, plus a dedicated SSD heatsink that ASUS states holds drive temperatures around 59 °C against 72 °C without it. Because this configuration draws meaningfully more power than the RTX 5060 entry model, expect fan activity to be more noticeable under a sustained gaming load — ASUS's published full-load figure for the range is around 38 dBA.
Vertical or Horizontal Placement
Both orientations are supported with a patented removable stand supplied in the box. There is no thermal penalty for either orientation on this chassis, so placement comes down to desk layout rather than cooling performance.
Memory and Storage Upgrade Path
32 GB (2 x 16 GB) of DDR5-6400 occupies both CSO-DIMM slots as shipped. ASUS's own specification table for this range states a maximum capacity of 64 GB DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM x2 or 64 GB DDR5-6400 CSO-DIMM x2 — readable either as 64 GB total or 64 GB per module depending on how you parse it, and ASUS has not clarified which on its public pages, so treat 64 GB per module as unconfirmed and ask SourceIT before planning around a specific ceiling. Storage keeps a second empty M.2 2280 slot for a later drive.
Networking and Display Outputs
Wired networking is 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet via a Realtek RTL8125D controller, with Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 (BE1750x, Gig+) and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless. Display output is identical across the whole ROG NUC 16 range regardless of GPU tier: two HDMI 2.1 FRL, two DisplayPort 2.1 and one Thunderbolt 4 Type-C with DisplayPort 2.1, supporting up to five displays with 8K@60Hz available on the DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 outputs.

Frequently Asked Questions — ASUS ROG NUC 16 RNUC16JNK9X389A3
Is the RTX 5070 Ti in this the same as a desktop RTX 5070 Ti?
No — it is the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU, a 12 GB GDDR7 mobile-class part with 5,888 CUDA cores on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture. Expect performance closer to a high-end gaming laptop than a full desktop RTX 5070 Ti card, in exchange for a chassis a fraction of the size of a gaming tower.
Is this a complete system or a barebone unit?
Complete system. It ships with the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor, RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU, 32 GB DDR5-6400 memory and a 1 TB NVMe SSD already fitted, with Windows 11 Home pre-installed.
Will this handle 4K gaming?
Yes at entry level, with ray tracing and DLSS 4 doing real work to get there — 12 GB of GDDR7 and 5,888 CUDA cores give it genuine headroom over the RTX 5060 configuration. For demanding native 4K at maximum settings, the RTX 5080 configuration in this same chassis is the better fit.
Can I add more memory or storage later?
Storage yes — a second M.2 2280 slot is empty and tool-less. Memory is more involved: both CSO-DIMM slots are already occupied by the 32 GB kit, so an upgrade means replacing both modules. ASUS's own specification page states a maximum figure that reads as either 64 GB total or 64 GB per module — ask SourceIT to confirm the real ceiling before you plan an upgrade around it.
Why does this configuration use the larger 380 W adapter?
Total system power draw. The Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and RTX 5070 Ti together need more headroom than the RTX 5060 entry configuration, so ASUS pairs this tier — and the RTX 5080 flagship — with the 380 W brick rather than the 280 W unit used on the entry model.
What is the difference between the black and white versions of this configuration?
Nothing beyond the chassis finish. The RNUC16JNK9X389A3-White carries the identical Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, RTX 5070 Ti, 32 GB DDR5-6400 and 1 TB SSD specification in a white chassis with the same illuminated ROG logo.
How does this compare with the RTX 5080 flagship in the same chassis?
CPU, memory, cooling, ports and power adapter are identical — the only difference is the GPU. This configuration steps down from the RTX 5080's 16 GB GDDR7 and 1,334 AI TOPS to the RTX 5070 Ti's 12 GB and 992 AI TOPS, which is the meaningful gap for demanding native 4K work or larger local AI models.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty and a GST invoice?
Yes. Every ASUS ROG NUC 16 RNUC16JNK9X389A3 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice; ASUS backs this system with a 3-year warranty.
