Frequently Asked Questions — AS7224RDX
How many drives does the AS7224RDX take?
24 bays for 3.5" or 2.5" SATA HDDs and 2.5" SATA SSDs, plus one M.2 2280 NVMe slot (PCIe 5.0 x4). Drives are not included. With expansion units it grows to 52 bays.
Can I upgrade the memory?
Yes. It ships with 16GB ECC DDR5-4800 UDIMM in one of four slots and supports up to 192GB (4x 48GB); mixed capacities are supported.
What network speeds does it support?
It has two 10GbE ports and two Gigabit ports with link aggregation and SMB Multichannel. The PCIe Gen5 slots accept optional 10/25/40/50GbE network cards.
How do I add more storage later?
Connect one Xpanstor 12R (AX7012R) through a SAS controller card in a PCIe slot (ADM 4.3.1 onwards), and/or up to four AS6004U or AS5004U 4-bay units over USB. Expansion-unit drives form their own volumes and cannot be combined with NAS drives in the same RAID array.
What is the warranty?
ASUSTOR lists a 5-year warranty.
