Two USB Type-C ports (front and rear) both carry DisplayPort 1.4, alongside a fixed HDMI 2.1 output and a rear configurable port that can be set to a second DisplayPort output, VGA or a second LAN. A USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI cable is needed where the connected monitor has no native USB-C input; a straight HDMI cable covers the fixed HDMI port directly.

Storage Configuration

The PN53-S1 chassis is a multi-storage design: the primary 512 GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD runs the operating system, and a separate 2.5-inch SATA HDD bay (drive not included, up to 1 TB) is available for adding bulk local storage without touching the boot drive. This is a genuine differentiator from the newer PN54/PN55/PN65 ranges, which do not carry a 2.5-inch bay.

VESA Mount and Desk Placement

A lockable VESA mounting bracket is available as an optional accessory, letting the unit be fixed to the back of a compatible monitor and physically secured against removal — a relevant feature for a shared or public-facing desk. At 115 x 115 x 49 mm it also sits comfortably on a desk where a VESA mount is not required.

Peripheral and Accessory Compatibility

The front and rear USB 3.2 Type-A and Type-C ports handle everyday peripherals — a USB keyboard, mouse, webcam or external drive — without needing awkward cable routing. Because the PN53-S1 has a free 2.5-inch SATA bay, an off-the-shelf 2.5-inch HDD or SSD can be fitted internally rather than relying on an external USB drive for extra storage, which keeps a shared or public-facing desk tidier and reduces the number of exposed cables and connectors.

The PN53-S1 is a distinct family from the standard PN53, with its own processor line-up (Ryzen 7000-series U-suffix mobile parts, including this Ryzen 7 7730U) rather than the Ryzen 7735HS/6800H used in the non-S1 PN53. Can I add a second storage drive?
