ASUS ExpertBook Ultra: a 14-inch Flagship Business Laptop
The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra B9406CAA-TH1297X (part number 90NX09J2-M01F40) is a 14-inch business laptop in ASUS's ExpertBook Ultra B9406 range, finished in Jet Fog. This configuration combines the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor with 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, a 14-inch Tandem OLED touchscreen at 2880 x 1800, and Windows 11 Pro. The chassis is magnesium-aluminium (Mg-Al) throughout, weighs from 1.10 kg, and is tested to the US MIL-STD-810H military-grade standard (24 procedures).
14-inch Tandem OLED Touchscreen, 600 Nits and 120Hz
The display is a 14-inch Tandem OLED touchscreen at WQXGA+ (2880 x 1800, 16:10), rated at 600 nits typical and up to 1400 nits HDR peak brightness, with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. A Tandem OLED panel uses two stacked emissive layers, which is how it reaches a higher typical brightness than the single-layer OLED panel ASUS fits to the TG configurations of this laptop (450 nits). The surface is anti-glare, covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and Gorilla Matte, and Pantone Validated.
Intel Core Ultra X7 358H with Intel Arc Graphics
The Intel Core Ultra X7 358H has 16 cores and 16 threads, running from 1.9 GHz up to 4.8 GHz with 18MB cache, plus an Intel AI Boost NPU rated up to 50 TOPS for on-device AI workloads. Graphics are Intel Arc Graphics, integrated in the processor, a step up from the Intel Graphics used on the Core Ultra 7 356H configurations of this laptop.
32GB LPDDR5X Memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD
Memory is 32GB of LPDDR5X soldered on the board. It cannot be upgraded later, so choose the memory size at the point of order. Storage is a 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, fitted in the laptop's single M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot.
Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0
Ports are 2x Thunderbolt 4 (USB4 compliant, with display output and power delivery), 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 1x HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Wireless is Wi-Fi 7 tri-band 2x2 plus Bluetooth 6.0. There is no built-in RJ45 Ethernet port, so offices on wired LAN need a USB-C or Thunderbolt adapter or dock.
Business Security: Secured-core PC, Pluton and TPM 2.0
The ExpertBook Ultra is a Microsoft Secured-core PC with the Microsoft Pluton security processor, TPM 2.0, Intel Boot Guard and BIOS Guard, BIOS self-recovery and support for Absolute Persistence 2.0. Sign-in uses the fingerprint sensor or the IR camera with Windows Hello, and the camera has a physical privacy shutter. This configuration also includes ASUS ExpertGuardian with NIST SP 800-193 compliance.

Connectivity & Setup / Security Features
Docking and External Displays
Both Thunderbolt 4 ports are USB4 compliant and support display output and power delivery, so a single Thunderbolt or USB-C dock can charge the laptop, drive external monitors and connect desk peripherals over one cable. The HDMI 2.1 port connects a monitor or meeting-room display directly, and the two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports take existing USB-A mice, keyboards and drives without an adapter.
Charging
The laptop charges over USB-C. ASUS supplies a 90W USB Type-C adapter and specifies a minimum of 80W for charging, so a lower-wattage USB-C charger or dock is not recommended as the main power source.
Wired Network
There is no RJ45 port on the ExpertBook Ultra. If your users need wired LAN, plan for a USB-C to Ethernet adapter or a Thunderbolt dock with an Ethernet port; SourceIT can quote one with the laptops.
Wireless
Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) tri-band 2x2 gives the best throughput on a Wi-Fi 7 access point and remains compatible with existing Wi-Fi 6/6E and older networks. Bluetooth 6.0 handles headsets, mice and keyboards.
Sign-in and Device Security
Windows Hello sign-in works through the IR camera or the fingerprint sensor.
