TP-Link BE11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender (RE655BE) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The RE655BE is TP-Link's tri-band Wi-Fi 7 wall-plug extender: 5764 Mbps on 6 GHz, 4323 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with Multi-Link Operation, 320 MHz channels on 6 GHz, 4K-QAM, four external antennas and a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port. It works as a range extender or as an access point and is EasyMesh-compatible.
Three Bands, Including 6 GHz
The dedicated 6 GHz band gives Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6E clients more channels and a wider spectrum, away from the congestion of neighbouring networks and older devices on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. 320 MHz channels are available on 6 GHz for clients that support them.
Multi-Link Operation
MLO lets a compatible Wi-Fi 7 client use more than one band at once, which TP-Link positions as gains in throughput, latency and reliability. Together with 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs it requires Wi-Fi 7 client devices; older phones and laptops still connect at their own standard.
2.5 Gbps Ethernet Port
The single 2.5 Gbps port can wire a desktop, console or smart TV to the extended network, or connect the RE655BE back to the router by cable in Access Point mode so the full wireless capacity is used for clients.
EasyMesh and Smart Roaming
EasyMesh compatibility lets the RE655BE join an EasyMesh router's network as one mesh system, and Smart Adaptive Roaming moves 802.11k/v clients between nodes as you walk around. Setup is by WPS button or the Tether app.

TP-Link notes that EasyMesh-compatible products can network with other EasyMesh devices, but failed connections may be due to firmware conflicts between vendors, and unified management is not guaranteed for other vendors' devices. Wi-Fi 7 features such as MLO, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs require client devices that also support them. The extender may not be compatible with routers or gateways running altered, open-source-based, non-standard or outdated firmware.

Frequently Asked Questions — RE655BE
Does it need a Wi-Fi 7 router?
No. TP-Link states it works with all Wi-Fi generations and devices. MLO, 320 MHz, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs need Wi-Fi 7 clients (and a compatible router upstream) to be used.
Can it be used as an access point?
Yes. Range Extender and Access Point are both listed working modes; in Access Point mode it connects to the router over the 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port.
Will it form a mesh with my router?
With an EasyMesh-compatible router, yes. TP-Link notes that connections with other vendors' EasyMesh devices can fail because of firmware differences.
