The RE235BE is TP-Link's entry dual-band Wi-Fi 7 extender with a multi-gig port: 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, Multi-Link Operation, 160 MHz channels, 4K-QAM, two external antennas and one 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port. It runs as a range extender or access point and is EasyMesh-compatible.
BE3600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7
The 5 GHz band is rated 2882 Mbps and the 2.4 GHz band 688 Mbps under 802.11be, a match for BE3600-class routers such as TP-Link's entry Wi-Fi 7 models. TP-Link notes the 160 MHz bandwidth on 5 GHz may be restricted in some regions.
Multi-Link Operation
MLO lets a Wi-Fi 7 client use both bands together for higher throughput, lower latency and better reliability, per TP-Link. It, along with 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs, requires Wi-Fi 7 client devices.
2.5 Gbps Ethernet Port
Unusually at this level, the Ethernet port is 2.5 Gbps rather than Gigabit, so a wired backhaul in Access Point mode or a wired client is not held to 1 Gbps.
EasyMesh, Smart Roaming and Easy Setup
EasyMesh compatibility lets it join an EasyMesh router's network; Smart Roaming keeps 802.11k/v clients on the best node. Setup is by WPS button or the Tether app.

TP-Link notes that EasyMesh-compatible products can network with other EasyMesh devices, but failed connections may be due to firmware conflicts between vendors, and unified management is not guaranteed for other vendors' devices. Both are BE3600 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 extenders with the same published wireless rates. The RE235BE has a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port; the RE225BE's port is 1 Gbps.
