The RE225BE is a BE3600 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 wall-plug extender: 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, Multi-Link Operation, 160 MHz channels, 4K-QAM, two external antennas and a Gigabit Ethernet port. It runs as a range extender or access point and is EasyMesh-compatible.
Up to 3.6 Gbps Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7
TP-Link rates the RE225BE at 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, aimed at consistent performance for streaming, browsing and multitasking. TP-Link notes the 160 MHz bandwidth on 5 GHz may be unavailable in some regions due to regulatory restrictions.
Multi-Link Operation
MLO improves throughput, reduces latency and increases link reliability for Wi-Fi 7 clients. TP-Link quotes up to 4x lower latency than a Wi-Fi 6 extender in its own laboratory test with MLO clients under 5 GHz interference. MLO, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs require Wi-Fi 7 client devices.
Gigabit Ethernet Port
A 1 Gbps port provides a wired connection for a smart TV, computer or games console, or a wired uplink to the router in Access Point mode.
EasyMesh, Smart Roaming and Easy Setup
EasyMesh compatibility lets it join an EasyMesh router's network as one system; Smart Roaming keeps 802.11k/v clients on the best node. Setup is by WPS button or the Tether app.

TP-Link publishes no weight for the RE225BE, and transmission power only against FCC limits. The Singapore plug type is not stated. TP-Link also notes this extender may not support all mandatory features ratified in IEEE 802.11be, and that further software upgrades may be required for feature availability. Those gaps are stated rather than filled in from another model.

TP-Link notes that EasyMesh-compatible products can network with other EasyMesh devices, but failed connections may be due to firmware conflicts between vendors, and unified management is not guaranteed for other vendors' devices. The extender may not be compatible with routers or gateways running altered, open-source-based, non-standard or outdated firmware.

What is the difference from the RE235BE?
Both are BE3600 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 extenders with the same published wireless rates. The RE225BE has a 1 Gbps Ethernet port; the RE235BE's port is 2.5 Gbps.
Does it need a Wi-Fi 7 router?
No. TP-Link states it works with all Wi-Fi generations, devices and internet providers; MLO, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs need Wi-Fi 7 clients to be used.
