TP-Link Deco M5 AC1300 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System (2-Pack)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AC1300 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System, 2-Pack (Deco M5) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Deco M5 2-pack is TP-Link's AC1300 dual-band mesh system for flats and smaller houses where one router leaves a room or two short. Two units run as a single Wi-Fi network with one name and one password, and every unit carries two Gigabit ports for wired gear. TP-Link publishes that "a Deco M5 two-pack delivers up to 3800 square feet".
AC1300 Dual-Band Wi-Fi on Both Units
TP-Link rates the Deco M5 at AC1300: 867 Mbps on 5 GHz (802.11ac) and 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz (802.11n), on every unit rather than only the one nearest the modem. The 5 GHz band takes streaming and video calls; 2.4 GHz holds range for smart-home gear and anything at the far end of the flat. TP-Link rates the system's WiFi Capacity as Medium, with Dual-Band to distribute devices to different bands and MU-MIMO to communicate with several MU-MIMO clients at once.
One Network Name Across 3,800 sq ft
Both units broadcast the same SSID, so a phone carried from the living room to the back bedroom hands over without dropping the call or asking you to switch networks. TP-Link builds the range from its mesh technology, four internal antennas that form a signal-boosting array to cover more directions and large areas, and beamforming that concentrates signal strength towards clients. Where cabling already runs between the two positions, optional Ethernet backhaul links the Deco units and takes the mesh traffic off the air.
Two Gigabit Ports on Every Unit
TP-Link publishes 2x Gigabit ports per Deco unit with WAN/LAN auto-sensing, which across a 2-pack gives you four ports in all. Whichever unit sits beside your modem becomes the gateway; the other becomes a node with two free ports for a desktop, a console or a network printer at the other end of the home. A reset button is the only other control on the unit.
Over 100 Devices on One Network
TP-Link's own line on capacity is direct: "Deco can handle traffic from even the busiest of networks, providing lag-free connections for over 100 devices." In a Singapore flat that is phones, laptops, a TV box, speakers, cameras and a shelf of smart plugs all associated at the same time. Both bands stay available, and the system steers devices between them rather than leaving everything crowded onto 2.4 GHz.
HomeCare: Antivirus, Parental Controls and QoS
HomeCare is the Deco M5's published service kit. Its antivirus side adds a malicious site checker, port intrusion prevention, infected device isolation, and notification and log. HomeCare Parental Controls run on custom profiles with content filtering, URL filtering, time limits, bed-time schedules, log insight, usage monitoring and monthly reports. HomeCare QoS can be applied by device or by application, so one large download does not flatten a video call.
Router or Access Point, Managed From the Deco App
The system runs in Router Mode or Access Point Mode, so it can sit behind an ISP gateway that has to stay in place. Setup and day-to-day management happen in the Deco app on Android 5.0 or later and iOS 9.0 or later. WAN types cover Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP and L2TP, IPv4 and IPv6 are both supported, and IPTV is handled with IGMP proxy, IGMP snooping, bridge and tag VLAN.
Ideal For
Singapore HDB flats, condominium units and smaller landed homes where the router sits in one corner and the far bedroom suffers, plus small offices wanting simple two-point coverage. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — Deco M5 (2-Pack)
How much area does the 2-pack cover?
TP-Link publishes that "a Deco M5 two-pack delivers up to 3800 square feet". Actual coverage depends on wall construction, floor levels and neighbouring networks, so treat it as a guide.
Should I buy the 2-pack or the 3-pack?
Two units suit a flat or a compact house on one or two levels. TP-Link publishes up to 5500 square feet for the three-pack and ties its 3-5 bedroom house guidance to it, so for three storeys, a long layout or thick walls the 3-pack is the safer choice.
How many devices can it carry?
TP-Link publishes that "Deco can handle traffic from even the busiest of networks, providing lag-free connections for over 100 devices." That figure is for the Deco system rather than a specific pack size, and TP-Link notes that connected-device counts come from test results under normal usage conditions.
Do I need to keep my ISP router?
Not necessarily. The Deco M5 runs in Router Mode with Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP or L2TP. If your provider's box must stay, run the Deco in Access Point Mode instead.
Is HomeCare a paid subscription?
TP-Link lists HomeCare™ as the Deco M5's service kit and states: "TP-Link HomeCareTM is available for free for the first few months after subscription. Please visit and check: www.tp-link.com/homecare". Ask us to confirm the current terms before you rely on a specific feature long-term.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, per TP-Link's published replacement-warranty policy, with a GST invoice on every order.
