TP-Link Deco BE85 BE22000 Tri-Band Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 System (1-Pack)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link BE22000 Tri-Band Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 System, 1-Pack (Deco BE85) - 3 Years Local Warranty
A single Deco BE85 unit - the Wi-Fi 7 flagship in tri-band form. One node carries 6 GHz at 11530 Mbps, 5 GHz at 8647 Mbps and 2.4 GHz at 1376 Mbps, eight high-gain internal antennas, four multi-gigabit ports and a USB 3.0 port. Buy one to cover an apartment, or to add a node to an existing Deco network later.
Wi-Fi 7 With MLO, 320 MHz Channels and 4K-QAM
The unit runs IEEE 802.11be/ax on 6 GHz, 802.11be/ax/ac/n/a on 5 GHz and 802.11be/ax/n/b/g on 2.4 GHz, with 4x4 MU-MIMO, OFDMA and 12 Streams, and TP-Link rates the WiFi capacity Very High. Multi-Link Operation lets a capable client hold more than one band at once rather than picking one, 4K-QAM raises the data carried per symbol, and TP-Link states that the doubled channel width and speed refer to 320 MHz compared to 160 MHz for Wi-Fi 6 mesh. All of these depend on the client device supporting the same features, and 320 MHz is available on the 6 GHz band only.
Four Multi-Gigabit Ports on One Unit
Each Deco BE85 carries one 10 Gbps port, one 10 Gbps SFP+/RJ45 combo port and two 2.5 Gbps ports, every one of them WAN/LAN auto-sensing. The combo slot takes a fibre module directly, so a 10 Gbps fibre service can terminate on the Deco itself. A USB 3.0 port adds FTP Server, Media Server and Samba Server roles for a drive plugged in locally. TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE85 product page describes the processing hardware as a Quad-Core CPU in its feature highlights; no processor model or clock speed is published for this model.
Tri-Band, With the Option to Mesh Later
A single unit works as a standalone router today and becomes the first node of a mesh whenever you add another Deco. TP-Link publishes TP-Link Mesh Technology, AI-Driven Mesh and optional Ethernet backhaul for this model, so once a second unit is added the link between nodes can run wirelessly or over any of the auto-sensing ports. Router Mode and Access Point Mode are both published, so the unit can also sit behind an ISP gateway you cannot replace.
Published Software and Security
HomeShield covers network security, parental controls and QoS, with SPI Firewall, Access Control and a published security set of Real-Time IoT Protection, Malicious Site Blocker, Intrusion Prevention System, DDoS Attack Prevention and Home Network Scanner. WiFi encryption is published as WPA-Personal, WPA2-Personal and WPA3-Personal. VPN server and client roles are published for OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPSec. Guest networks run on all three bands with Effective Time and Bandwidth Control, and everything is managed from the Deco app.
Ideal For
Singapore apartments and smaller landed homes on multi-gigabit or 10 Gbps fibre, and as a single extra node for an existing Deco network. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

Device Count and Coverage, as Published
TP-Link headlines the Deco BE85 as "Connect Over 200 Devices", qualified by the footnote quoted below. The 4,600 sq. ft. figure TP-Link shows for this model is a test condition, not a coverage rating, and it is not stated per pack size - the full test description is quoted below. TP-Link does not publish a coverage area for any Deco BE85 pack size, so none is stated here. Send us the floor area, number of storeys and wall construction and we will advise on pack size.
Per TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE85 product page: "Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Connection to over 200 devices is based on laboratory test data, which analyzed the connections of different devices on the 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz bands simultaneously. These devices simulated a typical home scenario by running simultaneous applications in the same room that included 4K video, 1080p video, 720p video, file downloading, web browsing, IP cameras, and other IoT devices. Actual wireless data throughput, wireless coverage, and connected devices are not guaranteed and will vary as a result of internet service provider factors, network conditions, client limitations, and environmental factors, including building materials, obstacles, volume and density of traffic, and client location."
Per TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE85 product page: "The test was conducted in a 4,600 sq. ft. two-story villa with 5 bedrooms with an interior made up of drywall. The Deco BE85 was tested with 4x4 MLO-compatible clients. Home networking performance may vary, depending on the network's speeds, fiber or Ethernet access, WiFi interference, obstacles, walls, areas, and clients."
Per TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE85 product page: "Use of Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), and features including Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 320 MHz Bandwidth, 4K-QAM, Multi-RUs, OFDMA, MU-MIMO and BSS Color requires clients to also support the corresponding features. The 320 MHz bandwidth is only available on the 6 GHz band. Simultaneously, the 160 MHz and 240 MHz bandwidths or the 320 MHz bandwidth might not be available on the 5 GHz band or the 6 GHz band, respectively, in some regions/countries due to regulatory restrictions. Double channel width and speed refer to 320 MHz compared to 160 MHz for Wi-Fi 6 mesh."
Per TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE85 product page: "10 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps internet speeds require compatible service plans and equipment. All WAN/LAN ports will operate as either WAN or LAN ports. Only one port can serve as a WAN port at a time."
Per TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE85 product page: "Clients need to support 802.11k/v/r and may require additional setup. Performance may vary depending on the client device."
TP-Link does not publish a net weight, a power-supply rating, a transmit power or a processor specification row for the Deco BE85 on its Singapore page, so none is stated here. Ask us and we will confirm against the carton.

Frequently Asked Questions - Deco BE85 (1-Pack)
Is one unit enough for my home?
One node suits apartments and smaller layouts. TP-Link publishes no coverage area for this model in any pack size, so we cannot quote one. Send us the floor area, number of storeys and wall construction and we will advise whether the 2-pack or 3-pack is the better buy.
How many devices can it carry?
TP-Link headlines "Connect Over 200 Devices" for the Deco BE85, based on laboratory test data across the 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands simultaneously. The full qualifying footnote is quoted in the Technical Specifications section above.
How does the BE85 differ from the BE95?
The BE95 is quad-band with two separate 6 GHz radios and twelve internal antennas; the BE85 is tri-band with one 6 GHz radio and eight antennas. Both publish the same port set and the same 5 GHz and 6 GHz speeds. The BE95 figures are taken from TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE95 product page and the BE85 figures from TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE85 product page.
Can I add this to Decos I already own?
TP-Link publishes TP-Link Mesh Technology and AI-Driven Mesh for the Deco BE85 but does not publish a compatible-model list on this page. Tell us which Deco models you run and we will confirm against TP-Link's own pages before you order.
Do I need a 10 Gbps internet plan?
No. The unit works on any service; the 10 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps ports simply mean the hardware will not be the limit if you upgrade later. TP-Link notes that 10 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps internet speeds require compatible service plans and equipment.
Are all the HomeShield features free?
No. TP-Link states that HomeShield includes the Free Basic Plan and that fees apply for the Pro Plan. The full footnote is quoted in the Compatibility & Software Support section above.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, per TP-Link's published replacement warranty policy, with a GST invoice on every unit.
