The HPE Smart Array E208e-p SR Gen10 (804398-B21) adds two external x4 Mini-SAS HD ports — 8 lanes of 12Gb SAS — to a ProLiant Gen10 server for HPE StoreEver tape drives and libraries, HPE D3610/D3710/D6020 enclosures and SAS-attached MSA arrays.
HPE's recommended tape HBA
HPE's StoreEver QuickSpecs name the E208e-p as the controller to pair with LTO drives, autoloaders and MSL libraries on ProLiant Gen9 to Gen11 servers.
Entry RAID when you need it
Mixed mode runs RAID 0/1/5/10 and plain HBA pass-through on the same card, with UEFI/legacy boot and HPE OneView support; no cache module to maintain.
