Frequently Asked Questions — HD-RXU-4KZ-101-E

Which transmitter does the HD-RXU-4KZ-101-E work with?

It is designed to interoperate with a DM Essentials HD-TXU-4KZ Series transmitter, connected from the transmitter DM Essentials output to the receiver DM IN port.

Does it extend USB with any DM Essentials transmitter?

No. USB 2.0 data extension works only with an HD-TXU-4KZ Series transmitter. It is not supported with other DM Essentials transmitters or DMPS Essentials HD-PS Series switchers.

How far can the signal be extended?

Up to 230 ft (70 m) for 1080p, WUXGA and 2K signals, or up to 130 ft (40 m) for 4K and UHD, using DM-CBL-ULTRA cable. Distances are shorter on DM-CBL-8G or standard CAT5e.

Can it pass Ethernet to the far end?

Yes. The 100/1000 Mbps LAN port receives Ethernet carried over the DM Essentials link, so one end can connect to the network and the other directly to a device such as a PC.

How is it powered?

From the included PW-2420RU 24VDC power pack, or from a remote surface-mount DM Essentials transmitter. Only one of the paired devices should have a power pack connected.
