Frequently Asked Questions — HD-EXT-USB-2000-C
What signals does the HD-EXT-USB-2000-C extend?
HDMI video and audio, USB 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet, RS-232, IR and stereo analog audio, all over a single CAT cable using HDBaseT.
What is the maximum distance?
Up to 100 m (330 ft), depending on video resolution and cable type. At 1080p60 the full 100 m is supported on CAT5e or Crestron DM cable.
Which direction does USB work in?
Either direction. The HOST/AUTO/DEVICE switch lets the USB host (for example a computer) connect at the transmitter or receiver end, but not both.
Can it be controlled from a Crestron control system?
No. It is not addressable and has no programmable functions; control signals are simply passed through.
Does each end need its own power supply?
No. The included power pack connects at the receiver and powers both the receiver and transmitter via the HDBaseT link.
