Frequently Asked Questions — HD-DA2-4KZ-E

How many displays can the HD-DA2-4KZ-E feed?

It splits one HDMI input to two HDMI outputs, feeding up to two displays, switchers or other devices.

Does it support 4K60 4:4:4 and HDR?

Yes. It handles 4K60 4:4:4 and HDR10 video. Crestron specifies HDMI cables and couplers rated for at least 18 Gbps TMDS bandwidth for 4K60 4:4:4 and HDR.

Does it need a control system or programming?

No. It is a standalone device; HDCP and EDID modes are set with switches on the unit.

How is EDID handled?

In DEFAULT mode it uses the factory 4K60 4:4:4 non-HDR EDID (or a custom EDID uploaded by USB). In COPY 1ST mode it copies and stores the EDID of the device connected to Output 1.

Does it pass CEC?

No. Crestron states the HDMI ports support HDCP and EDID but do not pass CEC.
