Frequently Asked Questions — HD-CONV-USB-300
What resolution does the HD-CONV-USB-300 capture over USB?
Uncompressed 1080p60. Inputs above Full HD, up to 4K UHD, are automatically scaled to 1080p for USB capture.
Which capture software does it work with?
It uses the standard USB Video Class (UVC) and USB Audio Class (UAC), which Crestron says are compatible with the most common video capture and streaming applications.
Can it capture HDCP-protected content?
No. HDCP-encrypted sources cannot be converted to USB; they can only be shown on the HDMI output.
How is it powered?
From the USB bus. On USB 2.0, a Y-cable to two USB 2.0 ports is required; a Y-cable is also recommended for USB 3.0 ports limited to 4.5 W.
Which audio sources can it capture?
2-channel audio from either the HDMI input (LPCM 2.0) or the 3.5 mm analog input, selected in configuration software.
