Frequently Asked Questions — DM-NVX-384
Can I connect a laptop by USB-C only?
Yes. The two USB-C inputs accept DisplayPort Alt Mode video and also pass USB 2.0 data between the host PC and other DM NVX or DM NUX endpoints. The cable must support DisplayPort Alt Mode.
What is Multiview?
A streaming mode that combines up to six DM NVX video streams into one output, with flexible layouts, text overlays, selectable audio and highlight borders. It works with compatible DM NVX endpoints.
What does eARC enable?
Display audio (for example smart TV apps) can be returned via the HDMI output and sent over the network as a multichannel BTS AoIP stream, and the secondary HDMI input can feed multichannel audio to an AVR.
How is it powered?
By PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt Type 3 Class 6, 60 W) on Ethernet port 1, or the optional PW-2420RU power pack, which Crestron recommends when the USB device ports are heavily loaded.
What is the DM-NVX-384C?
The card version of the same switcher, for installation in the DMF-CI-8 card chassis.
