PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Crestron DM NUX USB over Network Extender with Routing, Local and Remote Endpoints - Local Warranty

DM NUX endpoints extend and route USB 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 signals over the network or a dedicated CAT5e cable, up to 100 m (330 ft) between units. The local (host) endpoint connects a computer, media server or codec; the remote (device) endpoint connects keyboards, mice, whiteboards and other USB devices. Choose surface-mount boxes or 1-gang wall plates in black or white.

Key Features

  • USB 2.0 extension at up to 480 Mbps over Ethernet or CAT5e (or better)
  • USB signal routing under a Crestron control system or DigitalMedia system
  • Virtual Hub: up to five remote endpoints connected to one local endpoint
  • Plug-and-play, no drivers needed with Windows, macOS or Linux
  • Mass Storage Acceleration for faster USB 2.0 bulk transfers
  • Compatible with DM NVX endpoints that support USB 2.0 signal extension
  • Endpoints sold individually; box and wall plate versions interoperate

Compatibility & Software Support

Ecosystem

Control USB routing managed through a Crestron control system or DigitalMedia system
DigitalMedia Connects to the LAN port of a DM transmitter, receiver or switcher, adding USB host or device ports without extra wiring
DM NVX Compatible with DM NVX endpoints that support USB 2.0 signal extension
Interoperability Box endpoints (DM-NUX-L2/R2) and wall plates (DM-NUX-L2-1G/R2-1G) work together

All USB endpoints must be on the same Layer 2 domain as the control system or DigitalMedia system. Crestron does not guarantee compatibility with every USB device; some devices may need drivers. A webcam cannot be used when five or more remote endpoints are paired, and USB 1.0/1.1 devices need a USB hub.

Frequently Asked Questions — DM-NUX

Do I need both a local and a remote endpoint?

Yes. At least one local (host) endpoint and one remote (device) endpoint are required to form a working system. They are sold individually.

Can several remote locations control one computer?

Yes. With Virtual Hub, up to five remote endpoints can connect simultaneously to a single local endpoint.

Can I use them without a network?

Yes. They can be linked point-to-point over a dedicated solid-core CAT5e (or better) cable, up to 100 m between units.

Are drivers required?

No drivers are needed with Windows, macOS or Linux for most USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices, though some devices may need their own drivers if the operating system does not support them directly.

How are the wall plate versions powered?

The wall plates are IEEE 802.3af PoE powered devices and also have a 24 VDC input. The DM-NUX-L2 box is powered from the USB host and the DM-NUX-R2 box ships with a PW-2407WU power pack.
