Frequently Asked Questions — DIN-AP4
Can the DIN-AP4 be powered by PoE?
Yes. It is an IEEE 802.3at Type 1 (802.3af compatible) Class 0 PoE powered device. Alternatively, a 24 VDC power pack such as the PW-2407WUL (sold separately) can be used, which also provides more power to connected Cresnet devices.
How many programs can it run?
The modular programming architecture supports up to ten programs running simultaneously, so device-specific programs can be changed without affecting the whole system.
How many Cresnet devices can be connected?
The paralleled Cresnet master ports support approximately 20 typical devices. Larger systems can be handled by adding a DIN-HUB distribution hub or a DIN-CENCN-2 Ethernet to Cresnet bridge.
Does it support BACnet?
Yes, native BACnet/IP is supported. A free license covers up to 50 BACnet objects; the SW-3SERIES-BACNET-50+ license extends this, up to 500 objects when dedicated to BACnet use.
How is it mounted?
It attaches to a standard 35 mm DIN rail in a wall-mount enclosure (such as the Crestron DIN-EN series) or on a wall panel, occupying 9 DIN module spaces.
