Frequently Asked Questions — CP4N

What is the Control Subnet?

A Gigabit Ethernet network dedicated to Crestron devices. The CP4N auto-configures it, discovering each device and assigning IP addresses, and it can be fully isolated from the local network.

Does the Control Subnet port provide PoE?

No. To power multiple touch screens or gateways, add a Crestron PoE switch such as the CEN-SW-POE-5 or CEN-SWPOE-16 (sold separately).

How many IP addresses does it need on the building network?

Only one. The separate LAN port provides a single-point connection to the local network for the entire control system.

How many programs can it run?

Up to ten programs simultaneously.

How is the CP4N powered?

By the included PW-2420RU power pack, or alternatively from a Cresnet power supply via the NET port (connect only one).
