The Best Network Switch and Wireless AP for Business
In addition to extending your wireless network, access points also enable wired network extension by connecting an Ethernet cable to the new device and the access point's respective Ethernet ports. Access Points use Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power themselves and connect to the network directly through the router using an Ethernet cable.
It then transforms into the wireless network access point and uses its built-in radio to transmit its own unique signal. Instead of connecting to the router, several wireless devices then connect to the access point through a wireless standard, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The administration software of the access point controls and oversees these devices. They are typically used in locations where the WiFi router has trouble.
